Makes me glad I'm a Dolphins fan.

reply

Do you know how many dolphins get killed in fishing nets and from other human activities? Don't make light of mass murder! Cetacean Lives Matter!

I know, but I THINK were safe for a while. LOL.

reply

#CLM😬

Dolphins rape! https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/earth/wildlife/9172937/Dolphins-resort-to-rape.html

I'm outraged, change their name NOW! 😂

reply

Should be the Cowards.

Wonder how the local Native American tribes that have supported keeping the name are going to take this?

reply

Agree, the people who have the most right to be offended have pretty much consistently been the ones who have said they have no problems with the name.

reply

I'm not so sure about this.

reply

Good. LOL.

This was a long time coming.

reply

The Washington Caucasians.

reply

Seriously? LOL Have you seen the racial make up of the NFL? There's just not an equal representation of white boys on these teams.

reply

its wokeness gone mad!
I hate having this stuff rammed down my throat!
why cants they all be white like in da good ol days
waaaaaaaah

University of Northern Colorado renamed their team the "Fighting Whites" in 2002 to show how offensive it is.

white people werent offended and bought the shirts by the truckload.
then the university was offended that white people werent offended and added a disclaimer to the shirt "Fighting the use of Native American stereotypes" to make sure people know they should be offended!

reply

Hilarious. "You're meant to be outraged!"

reply

I think the "Fighting Whiteys" would sound even better! But let's go all out and be historically accurate. Just call them the "Former Slaveholders" or "Rocky Mountain Rednecks".

reply

actually Fighting Whities was an alternative shirt.

those names are pretty good too! you could make a bundle! put Whippin' some ass on the back
too... big bucks. Rocky mountain rednecks.... sounds like beer and monster trucks! Good stuff!

reply

I ordered a few Redskins shirts on Saturday knowing they will be collectors items.

Looks like I ordered right in the nick of time.

I don't understand why white people find this name offensive. Actual Native Americans don't find it offensive.

reply

The logo is awesome, a shame its gonna be lost. Just like the team!

reply

I agree! It was one of the best logos in the NFL.

reply

Yep, I never thought of that iconic logo disrespectful, but the exact opposite!

I'm gonna look up a Redskins t-shirt on Amazon, and I'm not even a fan!

reply

I do like the logo, and I sometimes wonder that we might just quit thinking about Native Americans entirely.
Was always bummed when people thought Chief Wahoo for the Cleveland Indians looked like a drunken fool. I liked that big ol' beaming smile. So no, I'm not 100% about change, but as they say, it's not my ox that's being gored.

reply

I've come across this claim a few times. There have been tribes supporting the Redskins name? Could you link to something showing that? I can believe it about a of of the nicknames. IIRC the Seminole tribe actually voted to approve of Florida State keeping their nickname.

Much harder to believe that about the "Redskins" though.

I live near a reservation and I dare say that if you referred to them using that word, in the presence of actual Native Americans, you might just end up getting your ass kicked. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be happy about it.

reply

My face flushes red very easily, and one very hot day I was getting gas while on a reservation, and the guy who worked there essentially said something like, "You're more of a Red Man than me." Still makes me laugh.
