are actors "all that" ?
People worship actors. I find it odd.
I mean , its not hard is it? read/memorise some lines from a script and put some feeling into it and 'act' like you are that person.
Its takes a bit of skill , granted , but not much.
Actors are way down on my list of heroes, below directors for one.
Its rare i see a film where the acting is so bad it breaks my "suspension of disbelief" which is all its required to do basically.
If the actor is good enough to disguise the fact he's an actor thats all i need.
Speaking of which , the actor carrying a famous face around , must surely be distracting and take you out of the movie as you're reminded its a real actor , not the character?
People seem to worship them like they are the sum of their roles Robert deniro is really as much of a badass as the guy he plays in "Ronin" you know!
Theres a thread on the "Heat" board saying:
"A clip of Val Kilmer changing magazines is used in army basic training as an example of the best way to do it"
Did the soldiers think "Wow , big movie star badass Val kilmer is going to show us a thing or two here!"
or did they think "Why should we, real soldiers, take gun handling lessons from this nancy boy who like to play dress-up and pretend?"
