So did you listen to some more Dutch radio?

reply

Radio 10 (Netherlands) - I like their 60s/70s/80s channels. They play some lesser known stuff.

reply

That's actually my favourite station. And no talk!

reply

I got the 90s channel on right now - playing zombie by the cranberries.

reply

Not a lot of Dutch music, though?

reply

it doesn't seem like it. i like that they don't just play the hits. right now they are playing kingstown by ub40 - i never hear that song on toronto radio.

reply

Now they're playing Alane by Wes!🤣.

reply

who is he??

reply

Some African guy who had a big hit in Europe with that song back in the late 90s.

reply

Hey, finally a Dutch song!

reply

There is a Dutch station I like for 60s/70s - Radio Caroline 319 - Breskens NL

reply

I've honestly never heard of it!

I pretty much stick with the local rock station out of Connecticut...I have a little Doors triple play going on now

'Love her madly' etc...

I mainly use the radio in the garage, sometimes on the deck

reply

Pro Tip...We got a bunch of 'Alexas' for Christmas from a Sis-In-Law who has some connections

You can tell Alexa in the Living room to play Billy Joel, the one in the music room to play 'Prince,' take a shower upstairs to 'Judas Priest...' AND have Maiden going in the bedroom!!!

I LOVE Alexa👍It will just play whatever you tell it to all day long

It's the best music upgrade you could imagine

I listen to a community radio station that plays an hour of military brass band music once a week.

reply

she should find one that has 24/7 military brass music.

reply

KQED and KPFA in the SF Bay area.

reply

are they music or talk?

reply

When I listen it is internet radio: Audiophile Stream Network - https://stream.psychomed.gr/

(And quite a few more, but nothing really terribly unique or oddball)

reply

all you hear is ocean waves

Couldn't get it to work on that site.

This worked for me - http://www.abacusradio.com/

i noticed how many weird radio stations are out there since i got this amazon fire stick. i have been listening to some of the police channels.

reply

Internet radio is pretty fantastic. I guess some are also FM stations, but some are internet only.

reply

Do you ever hear them say,
"One Adam 12, see the man, tac 2"

reply

10-4 is still used.
325 is also used a lot. Don't know what it means.

I was just listening to the Reno and Sparks Police and Fire.

reply

I find it surprisingly dull.

reply

they give addresses so if you happen to know the people. they just got a call about a guy face down on his lawn and they gave the address.

reply

One Adam 12, see the man, face down

reply

10-4

this has nothing to do with your post, but when i saw that you put 'an unique' in the subject line, i had to go and google to see if that was right, cuz it didn't feel like it fit comfortably to me.

and i found out that you're not supposed to use 'an' when the following word starts with a 'yoo' sound, since that's not a vowel sound like 'eh' in effort or 'ah' in apple.

so i found out something new. & i hope this doesn't sound like one of those annoying grammar police posts or something like that. i hate that stuff. i was simply kinda pleased to learn something i didn't know.

reply

so is is an apple or a apple?

reply

an apple
and it's 'an ulcer,' i guess because that's an 'uh' sound, not a 'yoo' sound.

reply

I immediately thought the same thing. I'm in no way a stickler for proper grammar but yeah I thought the same thing.
