Worries

It's the dead cold of winter and you wake to getting wrecked by a nice 7+ pointer; your knocked awake as everything heaves and crashes around you; bolting in the moment across the hall to your babies; them crying out in the dash and confusion; now somehow staggering outside; 20 below; everything moving; trees whipping to the ground side to side and you pile in the family wagon; the earth slides, breaches and heaves around you. It subsides; now in a brief moment and inventory you realize your feet are bare and bleeding; cut and swelling shut is your good eye; the two babies are shooken but safe. still rushing; you start up; crank the heat and move forward. You look over and worry about your neighbor; and mother and think about the store and the people on shift at work. The radio is static and the phone is out; and you start to make your rounds amidst the sudden wreckage that was your home.

Where’s the other parent? I feel like he or she got left behind. I feel like families with family wagons have at least 1 family dog. Go back for the dog!

reply

Nope left tha bitch and her little dog to die in the cold. Moving to her sister's house in New Zealand

reply

Haha

reply

That sounds like a normal Tuesday in New Zealand to me. Earthquakes? 💅🏻 Please. An alien invasion would clearly be too much to ask for.

Add aliens and you have three star Spielberg gold.

reply

Do you have any procedures in place in NZ for :
"Darkness befalling the land and Orc invasion" ?

reply

I refuse to answer your racist question.

No worries. We don’t allow that sort of thing in ‘Sunny’ Bournemouth.

You're by the sea! I'm so jealous. My nearest beach is in Wales but we are not welcome 😭. I went to brean instead and the sea was so far out I couldn't see it then got stuck in quicksand.

reply

My house is a five minute drive to the beach 🏖 I’m very lucky.

reply

I'll see your five minute drive and raise you a two minute walk.

I've actually outgrown my home and really need to move to a bigger place but it's so hard to give up my apartment by the sea. The ocean is so good for the soul, I'm about a million times more relaxed than I was as an inner-city dweller.

reply

Don’t do it! Unless you find a bigger place nearby. Which beach is it? I want to Google it and be blown away.

reply

Type in Warilla Beach NSW

And yeah, definitely looking to stay in this area.

reply

Wow! I just googled it - amazing. Don’t bother looking at anywhere else.

We didn’t quite get around that far last year, as we stopped at Sydney. Another 90 minutes was all we needed.

reply

So, my question is: what is a 7+ pointer? I am not familiar with that term.

reply

Earthquake. 7+ points on the Richter scale.

Unless I'm reading it completely wrong.

reply

Thank you. I thought so, but was not sure.

reply

No problemo amigo

reply

When I first started reading this I thought it was an attack by a 7 point or above deer.

reply

More worried about moose in these woods but yeah I get the confusion

reply

Especially since you said it was a nice one. Lol

reply

U know about instantly that your in for a "nice" 7+ pointer. What makes and nice eight or nine is it lasting for 10 minutes.

reply

Yes that's what she said

reply

In all my life as an American Ive never seen a "deer" in the woods plenty of moose and bear.

reply

i guess you got kinda 'shook up', eh? get it?

reply

Sleep with your boots and gear on for weeks with the aftershocks. Food and water in the van. Ready to bug out.

reply

Worrying is as effective as chewing bubblegum to solve an algebra problem.

😎

reply

Keep boots by your bedside and just focus on ways to get them youngins out safely.
