Oh, dear God, now the public wants to take down Hugh.

Hugh Jackman took to Twitter and put a picture of a white cop hugging a black protester with the word "Solidarity". He's lost followers because of it.

LEAVE Wolverine alone people!

reply

They've crossed the line with this one.

reply

Too far! I thought it was a lovely photo well worth sharing...some people should get off their keyboard for a while, what jerks

reply

THERE WAS A STRETCH TODAY WHERE I DIDNT EVEN RECOGNIZE MOVIECHAT...HERE WERE NO MOVIES...I TOOK A NAP INSTEAD OF ENGAGING.

reply

Glad you're back K

reply

Sound advice. He has very sharp claws.

reply

What a bunch of bullshit. Hope this just starts to prove to some of these Hollywood types how insane some of these "protesters" are.

reply

The story is what is bullshit here. No mention of how many followers he lost or how many 'likes' and positive comments the post got. No, better to run a story that further divides people rather than focus on the intent behind Jackman's post.

Don't fall for Daily Mail bullshit.

reply

I'm sure you're right about that.

reply

I'd bet money on it. The public doesn't want to take down Hugh. That's hysterical nonsense.

reply

I certainly hope so, he always comes off like a classy gent

reply

I checked out his Instagram and most comments were against him. A few of the top comments:

"Solidarity? This is what you choose to post. We are seeing black bodies slaughtered and this is what you choose to post."

"No cop propaganda".

"Posting one seemingly happy picture really shadows all the awful things police are doing right now"

reply

"Don't fall for Daily Mail bullshit."

Agreed.
They are always running sensationalist headlines with little to no truth in them.
Case in point - Hugh might have gained 5000 followerrs due to that pic , but theyll report on the 20 who up and left in disgust.

reply

He's Australian, not a part of America's racial issues. Only a complete twerp would get up over a foreigner not addressing the issues of the day, exactly the way they would.

But then, social media is chockablock with complete twerps!

reply

Americans comment on foreign issues all the time so I think this is fair game.

reply

Here's the thing with The Daily Mail and their trash reporting, anytime anyone makes any sort of comment that could be considered controversial, they swoop on the comments section, cherry-pick the most retarded, and run a story about how HUGH JACKMAN LOOSES MILLIONS OF FOLLOWERS AND IS UNDER FIRE FOR CONTROVERSIAL COMMENTS. When in reality, it's a few keyboard warriors with too much time on their hands, and a few followers throwing a tantrum who Hugh will almost certainly not miss. These "news" outlets are manufacturing controversy where none exists.

What Hugh shared was a beautiful display of solidarity and no BS Daily Mail beat-up about an imagined witch-hunt will make me think differently.

I saw another article where they provided a link to his tweet. There wasn't a single positive comment. I don't know how many followers he lost though.

I find it hard to believe that that many people could find his post negative.

This is why I don’t use Twitter. If I did I’d happily give him a positive comment, but there’s no way I’m going near that place. You couldn’t pay me to.

I’d be interested to know if the critics are as vocal about the footage of police chiefs and protesters kneeling side by side? It’s unity. Surely the outcome everyone wants.

I do think we have to be careful not to promote the idea that protesters or people who support them are all militant crusaders ready to tear people down. I think most just want change and proper reform so the system protects us all.

Looters and pillagers are bottom-feeders, an unfortunate bi-product of many mass protest events. They also shouldn’t be allowed to distract from the call for change or be misrepresented as allies.

Anyway, this is getting a bit political and I just swore off that. I’m going to watch the footy 🏈

reply

Idk man, losing some followers on Twitter doesn't seem like a big deal to me.

reply

I just mean that I can't believe people are upset about this. Especially with someone who has never been known to have controversy.

reply

I thought that was a wonderful post by Jackman. I can’t imagine why anyone would have a problem with it.

The only way to beat stuff like this is to fight back and call out these piece of shit outrage cancel culture dipshits!!! Let them know in any way you can that they are pathetic worms. Keep coming back at them with the truth and positivity. They’re determined to shut down free speech and any differing opinions from anything other than their extremist views.

Honestly, after the last few days I now really wish social media never existed. It has been horrible for years now, but the last few days finally put me over the top. People ruin everything.

reply

SOCIAL MEDIA WILL HAVE A HAND IN OUR EXTINCTION.

reply

After the Apocalypse, only North Korea & Iran are left standing because they don't have social media.

reply

I quit Twitter last week after a dumb argument. What I was saying was fact, but the person couldn't see past their bias. It's true when people say that people are offended about everything.

reply

That’s just retarded. Next they’ll go after strippers that dress like cops.

reply

I'd pay a dollar to see that !

reply

They're going to start attacking kids for playing cops and robbers.

reply

It's the tall poppy syndrome. He should never have called himself the greatest showman on earth. Just asking for it.

reply

People are just so misérable.

Not sure how well that joke works.

reply

I cackled 😆

reply

It's more of an Australian/English dry type of humour. Not everyone's cup of tea.
