I feel your pain, MovieBuff :(. We're having another small heat wave here, and it's gonna get up to 100 F on June 3rd :(. The only reason my family doesn't have issues with it is because we're all [save for mom] are Californians and expect summer to be hot. My family also spent 5 1/2 years in Texas, so this heat isn't nearly "so bad" by comparison, just less humid. I think we all kinda built up a small resistance to it. We also have a good-quality AC for this house.
I mean, I want to be able to walk my dog and go gardening, and yet it's too frickin' hot! Seems like at times like these, all I can do is get up at frickin' dawn to do it, but due to the shelter in place, I'm kinda on a summertime vacation schedule (sleep in, go to bed at 3 am).
I've been to theme parks in hot places many times. It's not fun waiting in line, particularly at Disneyworld in the warm season. I remember in April of 2015, it was already in the 80s and humid, and when my family was waiting for the Safari Ride at the Wild Animal Kingdom, people were looking enviously at mom's and my hand fans we were using (we bought them at the Japan section of Epcot's World Showcase). We were in line for the 7 Dwarf's Mine Cart Ride a few days later, and a girl had a seizure behind me, due to the heat and the overstimulating environment overwhelming her, poor thing. Luckily her family was there to take care of her :). Only time I enjoyed being outside was using the pool at our vacation home.
One thing that surprised me at our gym pool (this happened when I was in high school) was the kayaking part. I had no idea how much fun it was! There's something very soothing about sitting in that quaint little kayak, and just gliding along in the water with the paddles. Plus, if you get too hot, you can just jump out into the water (hopefully you're wearing a swimsuit).
