1973 but I don't remember any of it
shareMy earliest memory is convincing my dad that having Oreo cookies for breakfast is perfectly fine. At the time, my mom was in the hospital after giving birth to my second brother. I was three.
shareI vividly recall the birth of my little sis who is 2 years younger than me
The 'experts' claim you can't remember anything prior to age 3 or 4 but I call phooey
I call phooey, too. I think we often remember certain events earlier than that, probably because they're unusual in some way. The everyday normal stuff, nope.
shareMy mom had a bad time birthing Sis and they were in the hospital for a few days (this was in 1975 and the hospitals didn't toss you right the hell out back then)
I recall a snowstorm the day my baby Sis came home, it was the first week of March and an older family member took me for a walk in the snow...it was magical
Of course being 2 I tripped face first into a large snow drift and freaked out
Little kids are dummies😆
Been there, done that.
😎
I remember plenty of things when I was 2 and even earlier. Lefthanders tend to retain very early memories.
"Experts" are idiots.
It appears that several of us agree that very early childhood memories do exist and yes, a lot of experts are big dummies
shareWhen I was 2, my family was watching a TV documentary about how young chidren think. One researcher said they believe small people are in TVs and radios which I never believed. My family agreed with them while I remained silent. I knew adults were dolts from that point.
Animal intelligence is underestimated, too.
I saw a doco that showed apes using sticks to pull grubs out of rotting logs so you make a good point
shareMy family jokes that I remember coming out of the womb because I have asked questions about things I remember from under a year old.
shareThe funny thing is I was a long painful labour, mom was under anesthesia, so she wasn’t sure if I was born on the day of or the day after. It was like at 1155 pm. She argued with the doctors to get my birth certificate the day of
shareGosh, why did you inflict so much pain on your mom?? Just kidding.
My first son was due August 20th, although I thought the doc was off on his calculation. I thought it would be closer to the beginning of September. Labor started early on August 31st. He was born (via C-section, finally) at about 1:30 am, September 1st.
In the winter
shareAha. I was born in the winter, too.
shareMy younger brother , who is 7 years younger than me was born in an Olympic year
shareThis feels like it’s one of those complicated riddles
shareYep. Maybe it's a test!?!
shareLike an escape room ! We need to unlock the code !
shareActually, it's probably a gullibility test. 😨😛
shareReady for your first challenge ? And by that I mean riddle
shareI was born on January 16th, 1964 in Hollywood, California. 👶🏻
shareAlthough I was due early to mid February, 1952, I burst upon the scene in New York City in December, 1951.
Spent the next two months in an incubator.
That was a very boring time.
May 1959 (I recently turned 61)
shareI was born at night...but not last night.
shareI was born yesterday, but I stayed up all night.
shareI went to a medical appointment once when a clerical error on my admission form had occurred. My attending nurse pointed it out while getting my stats and found it amusing that the day of my appointment coincided with my DOB. I quipped, " I wasn't born yesterday...I was born today!" She giggled. Good way to enter a medical exam, btw.
shareRight! I like to joke with those folks. I feel like it puts them a little bit at ease. And me, too. I'm sure they deal with plenty of drama queens/kings and whiners, so I hope to let them know that I'm not going to be a difficult patient.
shareI once became partially conscious during a double-hernia operation. I remember a nurse saying almost incredulously, "Doctor, your patient is laughing." Strange but true.
shareWow! I was partially conscious during the C-section of one of my children. Yeah, I wanted to be knocked out for the procedure. All I remember is hearing the baby cry and then I went "under" again.
