What a mess. I live about 60 miles from Mpls. Apparently, there is fear here that the violence could spread. Many local stores, including Target, Walmart, gas stations, grocery stores, etc. closed early. There was a memorial/protest, thankfully peaceful, at the nearby park 3 blocks from my house. I also learned that Minneapolis, St Paul, and many surrounding suburbs have issued curfews for tonight and tomorrow. No curfew here, though.

I want this to be crystal clear: the people rioting and setting buildings on fire are 100% NOT from Minneapolis or St Paul.

These are outside agitators PAID to disrupt peaceful protests. And anyone who backs them and says it's "ok" to burn down an entire city should be tazed in the genitals.

I have lived in South Minneapolis most of my life... Anyone who actually thinks that, of all cities in the US, Minneapolis started the biggest riot in the last 30 years is an idiot, plain and simple.

I will say this... The "protesters" have had their fun. That is done now.. I've seen a few trucks riding around with armed people (of all colors...omg) in the back.

You won't hear another peep out of Minnesota for the next 30 years. Like any of you actually cared in the first place.. what a joke.

Its over now. They tried tonight and got shut down real quick...MN might be liberal but do not mistake us for Cali. Anyone looting in MN from here on out is gambling with terrible odds.

Interesting. How often does a governor give a news conference at 1:30 in the morning?? Ours is doing it right now. As I said, what a mess, a tragic mess.

reply

It's gonna go south... Really fast. Don't blink.

I'm glad you live far away from here.

reply

I am, too. I lived in Osseo for many years. It's one of the suburbs that issued a curfew. And even now, the governor is talking about how the violence could spread to the suburbs. Scary stuff.

Don't worry! Here is your governor saying.. a bunch of nothing. We're in good hands, clearly. He almost forgot which state he represents, but at least he gave you a bunch of platitiudes and nonsensical statements. About injustice or something..

And he looks disheveled. He's either been up for the last 72 hours or he just woke up 72 minutes ago.. I can't really tell.

Every incident is not the same. The Ferguson one the victim had just committed a robbery. Did it warrant death? No, but the officer was found not guilty. In Mesa Officer Brailsford executed an unarmed white man. He was found not guilty by a cowardly jury and retained his pension. In Minneapolis a Somali cop shot an innocent Australian woman (he was sentence to 12.5 years). In Central Park a man provoked a woman out with her dog. Instead of reporting her for the minor and oft ignored offense of not leasing her dog, a birdwatcher carrying dog treats which he had specifically to provoke people with dogs in the park, enticed her dog with them, then began filming as she (an Obama supporter and Democrat) wigged out. The media pundits have equated the first with the last.
