I’ve never gotten the love for the band Queen

They had a few good songs, and a Freddy had an operatic voice, but I don’t get chills or even much enjoyment.

I’ve seen Queen the musical and the movie.

I’ve even worked a Queen concert.

I just don’t get the hype. The Beatles is a hyped band where I get the love. Their songs are magical.

reply

Weird flex, but ok.

reply

I don't like them either. I mean, I respect them, but I just don't think they should be up there among the all time greats.

reply

I was shocked when I worked their concert this year that people left on the first song, and I mean a lot. Who does that?

reply

Maybe they thought Freddie Mercury was still alive.

reply

That made me laugh more than it should.

reply

I love Queen and had my Alexa blowing Queen up on my patio/deck last night
Mercury's voice is pretty much untouchable by any other rocker and the musicianship of Queen is simply brilliant

reply

I much preferred George Michaels “somebody to love” than Freddys.

reply

I will have to youtube that, I don't think I've heard it

reply

Let me know what you think. What’s your favourite queen song?

reply

Just listened to a live George Michaels cover
He was really impressive, I mean super, wow!
I still prefer Freddie but no slight to George

I LOVE nearly all of their jams👍

reply

My mother is a Queen fan and loves George Michael's cover of Somebody to Love. She thinks he was the only one able live up to Freddie Mercury.

reply

He was really quite good, an excellent voice and stage presence, but it's impossible to match up to Mercury

reply

George had the lungs, like Freddy, to not get out of breath singing. I'm amazed by his cover 'somebody to love' because its near flawless. When George would sing live, often it was just as good as the CD. He made it look easy. Maybe it was easy for him, just gifted.

I prefer George's voice because of the softness he can bring too, as well as the emotions he can convey with his voice. In my opinion, he's the best white pop singer since Elvis.

reply

When the truth is found to be lies.

reply

I love Queen, have all their albums and was lucky enough to see them in 1982 and 1986; one of the best live bands I’ve ever seen. Once Freddie passed away I wasn’t interested in seeing them live anymore - to me they’re just a tribute act now.

Most people I know like them, but I had one friend who couldn’t stand them. You can’t help what you like and don’t like.

reply

If there's hope for losers like Aerosmith, there's hope for any. Those idiots are godawful no talent wannabes hands down.

reply

Aerosmith and Queen are no talent wannabes?

Why do my rock radio stations still play them every day..?

reply

Aerosmith is.

reply

They may be no talent wannabes, but they’re incredibly rich no talent wannabes who get to hang out with supermodels, drive fast cars / bikes, live in mansions, fly planes (possibly), own huge boats, drink whatever and consume whatever they want and get worshipped by millions.

Yep! Don’t envy them them one bit.

reply

Those poor fellows must be wallowing in self pity, bikini models and millions of dollars just now

Let's all take a moment of silence and then blast Walk This Way
and try to sing along to it😎

reply

Have you noticed how this guy always turns the thread into his hatred for Aerosmith, even though they weren’t anything to do with the subject matter. Ironically, we wouldn’t have mentioned them, barring the fact that he brought them up (once again).

reply

It's Amazing, he needs an Attitude Adjustment to get Back In The Saddle😎

reply

Seriously, what a shitty life Aerosmith must live. Posting on MC is way more fulfilling then planes and supermodels. Some people are just dealt a shitty hand.

reply

All the endless sex, drugs and rock n’ roll.

reply

To answer your second question; the conclusion I've come to as to how a group as bad as Aerosmith could rise to prominence is because they appeal to those who find amusement in being idiots. It's as if it's an annoyment contest to Aerosmith. They find it amusing that they can mock the whole music concept and actually gain royalties while doing so. Courtesy of others as ignorant as them.

reply

Dream On!

reply

I think that'll be lost on him :)
Its a bit of One Way Street with him, the Same Old Song And Dance

reply

For someone that doesn’t like them, you sure do go on about them all the time.

reply

Can you summarize why exactly you don’t like Aerosmith? I don’t want to miss a thing with all these sweet emotions going crazy.

reply

Everything about them. They all look like jerks. They're so called songs are stupid and meaningless. And Steven "Frankenmonkey" Tyler on top of looking like Frankenstein, is a horrible rotten singer, who makes stupid annoying noises behind a microphone. He sounds like some monkey playing with itself. They're just plain BAD!

reply

How do you know what a monkey playing with himself sounds like, lol.

reply

I looked into going to see Queen tour with Adam Lambert, but the least expensive tickets I could find for anything close to me were over $500 so I decided I didn't want to go that badly.

reply

Yeah, 500 bucks is way too steep

reply

It’s not Queen anymore. It’s just a tribute band. Save your $500.

reply

Well May and Taylor are still part of the group and I like Adam Lambert, so if the price had been more reasonable I would have gone because I'm sure it would have been a fun time.

The only concert I ever paid a lot for was Tina Turner and I would gladly pay that again - it was fantastic.

reply

I can't blame May and Taylor for wanting to just go out and do some crowd-pleasing at their time of life. It's got to be incredibly fun.

reply

I paid more than $500 to see them last summer. No regrets!

Speaking of Queen, Brian May has had a rough month! He tore up his @$$ while gardening a few weeks ago and had to go to the hospital. Couldn't walk for a while.

During recovery he was in tremendous pain, feeling like a screwdriver was going through his back, along with sweating, tightness of chest, etc. He went back to the hospital for an MRI which showed some compressed discs, probably from decades of carrying a heavy guitar on his shoulder! But he also had an angiogram which confirmed he had a heart attack! A "sheer heart attack" you might say 😜... I only say that because he joked about it. I nearly had a heart attack when I heard about his!! 💔
He opted for 3 stents to be put in instead of triple bypass surgery.
He says he's ok now. ❤️🙏

reply

Let’s hope he makes a speedy recovery.

The thing is, another ten years and the old guard will be gone and then what are we going to be left with?

reply

I definitely get the love for Queen more than the love for The Beatles. Absolutely mindboggling.

reply

It doesn’t take much to boggle your mind let me tell y’a!

reply

Mmm, tell me more...

reply

laladim ladadim dam dam!

reply

very strange

reply

If you were a teen back in the days of the Beatles, you would've dropped your panties just like the rest of the teenieboopers.

reply

No. I never dropped them for any band back in my day, so definitely not for the Beatles.

reply

One of the greatest bands ever.

Some of the greatest live performances ever.

The greatest moustache in the
business.

Undeniably.
