Do you invest your money?

Do you know of any good investments?

reply

Wifey and I have long term investments but we rarely read the quarterly
annual statements...We are aiming for the long game!
In 8 years I'll be on the gulf of Mexico with a tiny condo 10 minutes from the water...I'm getting too old for this Bronx shit!

reply

I hope you find your friend Andy. I hope the ocean is as blue as they say... I hope...

reply

It is quite blue and lovely water

I know Andy and I will be pals for a good long time, I just have to shout 'MovieChat Team Assemble!' and he just shows up!!

reply

You rang?

reply

i'm a poor sac of shit

never had a decent paying job over 30k before

think i might drive trucks one day if tech bootcamp or mailman or hollywood actor doesnt work out]

right now im trying to pinch together for a move to hollywood, if i don't change my mind, i know i need money but don't have much of it and like to eat good food so it's hard to save money

reply

Cool idea moving to hollywood. How old are you and do you have acting experience?

reply

i'm pretty bald and middle aged, ill probably delete this post if i can't sleep tonight lol

did a bit of acting in college, just barely

I get frustrated entertaining the idea but not earning any money to rectify it

I change my mind a lot, if i could leave now and guaranteed some work id do it ...

i'm curious who my competition will be lol or I don't even know if I can act lol

reply

I tried acting but I wasn't very good at it. So I moved on.

You should at least find out if you enjoy acting before you go there imo.

reply

I wish you the best beavis in whatever you decide to do

AND You are NOT a sack of shit, you are fun and add to our convos buddy

Ed Harris and Bruce Willis are old cue balls and still walking red carpets...never too late pal👍

reply

sure.

though i don't make the kind of money i used to make, i'm still making monthly investments into index funds. nothing fancy.

who knows what the next few years will bring (i'm very very very worried), but if everything collapses and i lose everything...well, then i guess i'll be out hunting feral cats in a loincloth or something. but in the meantime i'm continuing to put money in.

I’ve run a Financial Consultancy for twenty years, so let’s hope so, lol.

It's time in the market, not timing the market.
Use a Discretionary Fund Manager - no matter how good you think you might be at picking stocks (and you might get lucky), in the long run you're better off using someone who does this for a living.
Good luck!

I micro invest with Acorns lol. It rounds up all of your purchases and invests if for you. I also squirrel away silver and a little gold, which I don't plan on touching for decades. If I had serious money to invest, I'd go for a low risk mutual fund. Stock market is too risky if you're trying to make a quick buck.

reply

I converted all of my 401K stocks into cash the end of Feb. I knew I was going to retire in March and the market was making me very nervous. It's still in cash and I need to do something with it but I've been procrastinating.
