Bugs sound gross

Already meat places have slowed production because of the social distant needs. This is the only alternative to restore supply.

I would prefer Soylent Green!

reply

That would be the entree' and we could have a tasty insect appetizer to start off with.

Yeah, this is the world they're planning for.

All the tasty nutritious natural foods reserved for the wealthy, the rest of us living on processed bugs. Mmmm, protein!

reply

Asians eat insect for hundreds of years already.

reply

One advantage is no longer needing pesticides. Just eat the buggers ourselves.

reply

What is the purpose of this? Bug meat is disgusting. I think the established meat industry lobby is pushing bug meat instead of legit lab grown animal meat so that people do not buy cultured or lab grown meat in the future, to shift their perception permanently as to feel disgust whenever anything 'lab grown' is mentioned. It's a conspiracy.

reply

Well you already eat some when harvesting wheat.corn and other stuff it picks up bugs on the plants also.

reply

disturbing.

reply

Well no just put up a greenhouse looking building and half the year grow cannabis, then the other half grow worms or crickets,

It's possible. Just like the oil industry lobbied car manufacturers to make crappy electric cars so people would say electric cars are crappy.

We need another Tesla revolution.

Goddamn them to hell, enemies of progress.

Crabs and lobsters are, as the late George Carlin pointed out, "just big insects". Ever see a photo of a live shrimp? I don't like the prospect of eating bugs, either, I'm just sayin'... Sufficiently processed, the gross-out factor is tremendously diminished.

reply

Instead of bug meat lab production why not produce cultured meat of conventional meat such as lamb, beef, pork, shrimp, crabs, lobsters, etc.

reply

I used to eat insects all the time in Thailand.

reply

Hmmm... ladyboys!

The Katoeys!

The running joke was, the best looking girl in the bar was a guy.

reply

Whatever. You'll eat your shoes if you're hungry enough, no question. I won't have to wait that long.
It takes a tiny fraction of the land and overall expense to generate the same protein.

Not saying that I won't miss a damn good steak...
