Waiting for THING sequel, c'mon now

So far there's The Thing (1982) and The Thing (2011). Original and Prequel respectively. When's the sequel coming out? Seriously, you can put The Thing anywhere. Maybe The Thing on an oil rig?

An oil rig sounds like an AWESOME setting!

I don't think there's much of a demand for this though.

It would be nice if some director would take a chance, go all practical effects and not have an all powerful female character or people walking away from explosions without flinching.

I think all the original ideas happened in the 80s. Maximum Overdrive for example. Re-watch a classic you love, that you haven't seen in a long time. I guarantee you will notice something new.

I constantly (re)watch classics, that's what makes me realize there haven't been many original movies lately.

Me too. 😀 when I’m not rewatching favorites I dig into directors and actors filmographies from the 60’s - 80’s that I like.
