Which movie/person do you think has the most annoying fans?

I'm going to say Tarantino. One little criticism about any of his films and they bite your head off.

reply

David Lynch fans can be. I think half the posts on the Mulholland Drive board are people who love the movie congratulating themselves on "getting it", which they believe makes them a lot smarter than anyone who didn't like it.

reply

Now that you mention it, it reminds me of Wes Anderson fans. They think they understand the quirks in his films and that you're not smart enough if you don't like him.

reply

The Terminator boards can be annoying also. Anything that isn't T1 or T2 gets trashed. But I'm probably one of them when it comes to DF.

reply

"Anything that isn't T1 or T2 gets trashed."

Rightly so. The rest of them are too cartoony.

reply

There were parts of Salvation I really liked.

reply

Salvation isn't a half bad movie. It's the only one of the bunch that is watchable. But it's not even close to being on part with the first two. Kyle Reese was totally off. And John Connor not in charge of the resistance? And some of those machines were more Transformers than Skynet creations.

reply

I was glad they didn't turn John into a cyborg as originally intended and wish the trilogy had been completed. I think most fans always wanted the future war and this as the only one that gave us just a bit of it. The problem I had with it was it really wasn't dark enough but that could have come later.

i find the idea that any director or film's fans would be the worst is kinda weird, i guess.

it seems to me one person's 'annoying' is another person's 'passionate,' & if someone's passionate & feels strongly about something, well, then... good for them! i love feeling passionate about things. it may seem silly, but it seems like a pretty essential part of the whole 'being a human' package.

to me, the most annoying part of any message board or online world are the 'this movie/director/whatever is complete shit, and anyone who doesn't recognize this clearly is not to be taken seriously' posting.

it's a big world, and lots of people like different food & music & everything. & if someone digs something you hate, then that doesn't hurt you one bit.

if i see something i don't like, i'm perfectly happy to say that's my problem, and the people who made it wouldn't have done so if they hadn't seen some value in it, and same for the people who enjoy it.

reply

Some people get mad when you state your opinion. If I say I hate the Star Wars franchise, people would attack me for it. Of I said I hated The Godfather films, people would tell me that I must like films with explosions.

reply

Christopher Nolan and Tarantino fans are good ones. Star Wars fans who like the prequels, but not the sequels. Star Wars fans who get caught up in "expanded universe" nonsense. DC fans.

reply

I'm a marginal fan of Tarantino but a fan of Nolan's but man, the hardcore fans can get annoying.

reply

Yeah, Nolan fans are nuts. Totally rabid.

reply

2001: A Space Odyssey fans

reply

"You just don't understand the ending".

reply

exactly

reply

any true believer but Star Wars, Marvel, Tarantino, and Nolan come to mind.

reply

Marvel and Nolan fans.

reply

Especially when Marvel fans can't admti that the storylines make no sense.

reply

Or when you tell them these movies aren't exactly Oscar material.

reply

I hate other people who like the same things as me. Ruins my perception of uniqueness. So I don't like other Dario Argento fans. I hate Suspiria fans the most. INFERNO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

reply

I'm like that too sometimes.

reply

dario is worth fighting for 😊

reply

Phenomena rules!!!!

reply

Deep Red is my actual favorite Argento movie. MY all thyme favorite is Hausu with Miki Jinbo and Kumiko Oba

reply

I’m a fan of most of Argento’s work, even the “less popular” ones.

I saw Hausu (1977) for the first time a few years and put it straight on my top 100 list.

reply

yeah, Sleepless (2001) aka Non ho sonno with max von sydow is an excellent movie.

reply

Great score too. 👍

reply

I'm not 100% sure but it may have been scored by either Goblin or Claudio Simonetti a former member of Goblin who scored Demons (1985). Have you seen Demons?

reply

Yes Goblin did indeed do the score. I had a chance to see Goblin in concert at a small venue last year but I missed it. :(

Demons? That’s the one in the theater with the crazy pimp right? I think maybe Argento had something to do with the screen play but did not direct it. But yes. I have it in DVD if we’re talking about the same one.

reply

lol yeah Tony the pimp. That's the one. Produced by Argento and directed by Lamberto Bava, son of Mario Bava.

reply

Yep! Another funny thing about Demons is in the end when a truck pulls up to save everyone and Bob, the irritating kid from Fulci’s House by the Cemetery, is sitting in the back. Lol

reply

I watched this a few months ago. I liked the twist.

reply

YOU have seen Deep Red?!?!?!

reply

five months ago

reply

Did you see the 1 and half hour version or the 2 hour version?

reply

this one i think

https://ok.ru/video/1087618288166

reply

Honestly the shorter version is better because it's well, shorter. It was cut strictly for run time and not for the violent scenes. Also, with the long version the deleted scenes never got an English dub so your watching the movie and then suddenly BAM they start speaking Italian.

reply

I also watched The Bird with the Crystal Plumage

reply

that movie is ok and I know it was his first film and deserves credit for that, but it's kind of bland. By giallo standards it is not great.

reply

Tenabrae is another I watched - I went through this Italian crime phase about 5 months ago.
