Remakes that broke your heart.

Clash of the Titans 2010 The original is one of my top 10 favorites of all time, so when I saw this crappy remake I just got mad.
Valley Girl 2020..I'm actually in the middle of this one, but its not good. The original was so unique. This new one feels like a High School Musical Rip Off.

Most remakes I despise are horror remakes. I don't find them heartbreaking or offensive, but they're usually bland. I also really didn't like The Lion King remake, same reason.

reply

The Lion King remake is the most bafflingly stupid concept ever concieved... a live-action version of an animated movie but also entirely animated.

reply

It's funny when you put it that way, but you're entirely correct.

reply

Far from the Madding Crowd (2015), the Alan Bates and Julie Christie 1967 version is perfection, this weak and bland update pales in comparison.

reply

I second Clash of the Titans, one of my top 10 films to and the remake was appalling.

Woodstock
Lol they remade valley girl? Why??
The original clash of the titans is classic.

I've never had a remake break my heart.

But lots of them have pissed me off!

Charlie and the chocolate factory.

Ruined the whole point of the original by changing the ending.

reply

Yes. Thanks for stomping on my childhood Tim Burton.

Back To The Future (2023).

I'm a time traveller and I'm sorry to tell you that this is going to happen. 😔

reply

Marty! What ever you do, don’t go to 2023!

I know how you feel. While the special-effects were cheesy, the original "Clash of the Titans" had its own romantic charms, such as a lovable hero, likeable supporting characters, it followed the myth as closely as possible, and there was a happy ending that included a wedding.

Can't say the same thing about the 2010 version. That movie was horrendously awful. I'm thinking about writing how I feel about it in the actual threads for that movie.
