There is no cure. There is only prevention.


Yes, restrictions are starting to lift here and there, but that doesn't mean the danger from the pandemic is over. It just means we've stopped a New York-level disaster from happening absolutely everywhere, at once.

So yes, even though lockdown orders are being eased in a lot of places, it's still going to be everyone's responsibility to avoid catching or transmitting viruses to others. Social distancing, masks, correct use of gloves, and avoiding crowds and crowding are going to be necessary until vaccination becomes widespread, or enough people get sick and recover that herd immunity starts to kick in.

Because there is no cure, and no treatment for serious cases other than putting you on a ventilator until you either die or get better. You don't want that for yourself, you don't want that for your family, and you don't want that for total strangers you don't give a rat's ass about. Because if your mother is needs a ventilator next month because somebody thought social distancing is no longer necessary, you don't want every ventilator in town to already be in use.
