I'm curious as to how you ended up in Orlando.

Father left shortly after I was born. Mother was only 17, which was a big deal in 1967 and was ill equipped to be a parent. After years of psychological and physical abuse I was abandoned at the age of 10, as she was unable to cope. Luckily, my wonderful uncle, who was married to a lovely American lady and lived in Orlando, took me under his wing. This was the moment that my life changed dramatically and I'm forever grateful for the opportunities that were opened up to me because of this.
Wow. 😥 Your story brought a tear to my eye. I have much admiration for you. With the help and support of your wonderful uncle you overcame your rough start in life. Applause to you for realizing the gift he gave you, and making good use of it to be the man you are today.
shareThanks. Growing up in 70s Britain was grim at the best of times. I’ll always remember the first time a very lonely, frightened little boy stepped off the plane in Florida - I call it my ‘Wizard Of Oz’ moment when everything went from black and white to glorious colour.
I’ve been very lucky in my life and I’m eternally grateful for the way it turned out.
