Do you use medium-power much?

I never used
to use medium microwave power much.

Recently, I have been.
Not only does this save your microwave from some wear and tear (high power is an absolute bitch), this also makes for better, safer heating.

Quantity over quality. Legit story.

It's better for the food and plastic ware too.

🤘

No, because mine is a 700 watt (output) model. If it was 1000+ watts, I probably would. That's not to say I never use a lower setting.

reply

Mine is 700 as well, but I've been using 60% power as of late. Fight the power, power to the people.

reply

i always nuke the shit out of it

reply

I don't monkey with the power on my micro, but I prefer having more control over heating something rather than having food that's literally burning hot and melting and ruining toppings that should have been eaten when fresh. I'd rather heat something for 30 seconds then a bit more to even out the cooking rather than one quick heating.

I especially use it when reheating meat. It seems to not dry it out and make it rubbery quite as much

reply

If I am boiling water (like in cooking pasta), I will lower the setting once the water is boiling.

reply

I use it when my frozen dinners have instructions to do so.
