Liquor and weed sales soar..

with the corona virus.

Sad that that's how people are "coping"...

reply

Gotta have Something to do... ;)

reply

He won't like it but lats have a barn raise type thing for the Obama Library while everyone is off. Kinda like that Lilies of the Field movie building the church.

2112 is an awesome album.

reply

It speaks to the heart of me ;)

reply

Is Spirit of Radio on that?

reply

Spirit of Radio was on Permanent Waves.

reply

Ah yes. Great song.

reply

Yeah ;)

reply

Why sad? You got a better idea? Smoking, drinking and fucking... why not?

reply

Lots of way better, more productive things to do. Behaving like an animal will get you nowhere.

reply

Oh it’s got me plenty of places! Don’t knock it til you try it “chilone”.

reply

I've done it quite extensively and you know where it got me and all the alcoholics and drug addicts I did it with, without fail? Exactly nowhere (at best). Some of them didn't survive

reply

True that. Lots of dead friends myself. But I’m still kickin and it’s been a fun fucking ride!

reply

Well good luck and be careful. Look down the long road.

reply

Thanks bud

reply

I guess it comes down to s it better to burn out or fade away?

reply

The older one gets, fading away becomes more and more attractive.

reply

Maybe someday. I still got that lust for life in me.

reply

Dude! I totally have a lust for life. I'm not super old, btw. The truth is, after I gave up all the bad shit in my life, my lust for life increased dramatically which is why I said fading away is cool. To me burning out is dying young. No thanks. Imma milk this cow for all she's got!!

reply

I like your philosophy. That works too!

reply

Admittedly have dabbled in shit that has put me on a dark path, but managed to acknowledge it and get out. But smoking some herb? Its just good for my soul.

reply

I try not to generalize too much but pretty much all of the pot heads I know have little to no ambition and are for the most part, at a stand still in life.

reply

Dude, you know all the wrong potheads. We’re a fun and peaceful bunch! Ambition for what?

reply

Lol. Talking to people who are high or drunk is like talking to a bunch of chimpanzees! If you're drunk or high it can be '"fun", I guess but you're literally shutting down your higher brain functions which make even stupidity "fun". People who are not in this state, generally don't enjoy herding cats.

Ambition? I dunno. To be a productive, self sufficient member of society?

reply

Whosays I’m not?Also, I hate cats.

reply

I didn't say you're not. Are you? Cats are kick ass little savages, by the way!

reply

Definitely savage. I like my chill dog.

reply

Ms. froggy is SO not a dude!

reply

It's a colloquialism. ;)

reply

animals don't drink or smoke

reply

There's videos of chimps smoking and animals in Africa getting drunk on fallen, fermented fruit.

reply

You seen the videos of deer tripping on shrooms? They love um!

reply

that's eating, not drinking

reply

clap clap clap

reply

i sure enjoy drinking and smoking but never do it at home cuz this is how you become addicted easily, now with quarantine its even worst if you do it today you will do it tomorrow and after tomorrow and the day after... so i simply dont do it at all.

reply

Alcohol is too strong of drug.

It just dehydrates me and the hang overs are deadly

reply

Naturally.

The number of people smoking and drinking hasn't increased, just the time that the existing smokers and drinkers have to partake.

To me it's sadder that people choose to look down their noses at others during such a hard time. I hope everyone does anything they can to prevent themselves from going completely around the bend with so many restrictions on their personal liberties. Anything that keeps people mellow in a situation that breeds such frustration is not something I would choose to condemn right now.

reply

So you feel that intoxicating yourself is the way to go? Oy... And by the way, smoking has become more dangerous than ever. It will increase the risk of you becoming really sick, if you catch the virus.

reply

If that's what I felt I would have said that.

To rephrase so you might understand, I choose not to judge how others cope with isolation.

You're right, smoking will likely impede your recovery if you contract the virus. At this stage there is only limited data to suggest that smokers have worse outcomes from COVID-19, but smokers suffer worse from all forms of respiratory disease so it's logical to assume it would be no different.

reply

Alcohol also compromises your immune system.

reply

I rarely, and I mean rarely drink, but the last couple of saturdays while partaking on our weekly zoom pub quiz /party game sessions I've been having a couple. I'm not going anywhere, why not have a drink?
