How did they not already know that was going to happen?? There was only a month of school left! Most importantly, who gives a fuck!!! People are dying

shareThe most complaints I heard about were from people who profit from the public school system, and whine about how the kids are forgetting everything they learned, or there's a ton of parents who are suddenly stuck homeschooling and are unprepared for what their kids need. (What they're really saying is, "I'm not getting my money at the expense of the kids, and we can't indoctrinate them right now! No fair!)
In the comments below that article, I found some fascinating info. For one thing, if the kids are forgetting what the schools taught them in this past year, are they actually learning anything?
It also appears that homeschooling has evolved into something far better than it was in the 1980s. They now have much better teaching resources available, including entire organizations for homeschooling parents, and it's been found that some home-schooled kids these days are actually doing better academically than the kids going to public school! There was even an anecdote this one person told about how a relative of theirs was stuck at home from high school for a month or two, due to some disaster, and he got a chance to learn more in that month than he learned in the entire school year!
