Well I guess the corona virus has taught us one thing loud and clear.

Generally speaking the "citizens" of Western Civilization have been exposed as an every-man-for-himself rabble.

I just posted to GE in another thread how interesting it is that situations such as this bring out both the best and the worst in people.

There were the people in northern Italy, quarantined in various small towns, at night singing beautiful songs from their residences. That touched me deeply.

A grocery store where she lives is making the store available for an hour first thing in the morning only for people who are at risk.

A guy in my neighbourhood posted offering to make store runs for anyone who's at risk, and a woman chimed up offering to do the same.

Yes it's the handful of decent human beings that make some of us forget about the horde of people stripping the supermarket shelves bare to save their worthless hides from the zombie apocalypse.

reply

It helps to focus on the decent people, but the hoards have a way of shouting the loudest and getting the most attention.

Then there was this occurrence in Italy that wasn't quite as heartwarming

I'm curious if Corona beer sales are on the decline because people confuse it with the virus.

reply

I don't think so. It's free advertising actually.

Tom Hanks has said he and Rita Wilson have contracted the corona virus

reply

Did you get that news by Pony Express?

reply

We have a BIG BRAIN over here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

reply

Generally speaking?

The idiots fighting over toilet rolls and lining up at grocery stores represent what? 5% of the population at most?

Everybody is very chill where I live. Nobody is emptying shelves in panic.

reply

Some are like that but it's hardly a revelation.

reply

It's due to capitalist culture that makes people pigs.

Everyone wants to be the one "rich" in toilet paper or whatever. They will race to get to the store and they don't care if some old person has no food or energy to travel to different stores because fuck everyone---I am number one.

I did not horde food or buy a lot of stuff. I bought the min to get through a short period of time.

This is another stupid media fad and is about nothing.

reply

I AM NOT A NUMBER! I AM A FREE MAN!

reply

In a capitalist country your number is probably 0.

In a communist one you'd be an important part of society.
