One False Move

reply

I really liked this movie a lot when I first saw it. Billy Bob Thornton’s character was so scary.

reply

I'd like to see this again other than when it was brand new.

reply

I recently re watched TFC and Dirty Harry.

The best of 70s grit

reply

Which did you like and dislike?

reply

I like all of them quite a bit, The Untouchables is a bit cheesy but still very enjoyable, Long Kiss Goodnight and Sharkys Machine are very good to but not quite as great as the others.
The first 4 I listed are my favorite ones.

reply

They are good films.

I don't like films that glorify criminals, but BC was solid.

I can't believe you saw Sharky's Machine, lol. I haven't thought of that film in a long time, and barely remember it. You don't see many of those Burt Reynolds films coming up.

reply

State of Grace with Sean Penn and Gary Oldman is awesome.
Witness with Harrison Ford is pretty great too.

reply

I loved Witness when it was new and a good ten years beyond.
Not sure I would feel the same now, but it was a very well made movie at the time.

I loved Point Break.

I've been binging Monk. It'll take a while to get through since there are a zillion seasons.

reply

First time or rewatch? Monk is one of my favourite shows of the past 20 years. The first 4 seasons were the best, in my opinion.

reply

Half and half. I didn't know about it until it was halfway through airing so I started watching when I remembered, but missed a lot of it. Which is great now because most of it's brand new to me, either because it really is or it's been a long time since I saw the episodes.

I ❤️ Mr Monk!

reply

You're lucky!😁

Great show. Loved the characters!

reply

Yes I yam lucky 😊. I'm getting a lot of mileage out of Monk because I watch it usually in bed and keep falling asleep during the episodes, so I'll wake up and go wha? What happened to [fill in blank character/plot]? Which means next time I binge, there will still be things I haven't yet seen!

Love the characters, love the plots, and the delivery of the lines! Monk is so endearing.

reply

I also used to really enjoy that show. I've seen every episode. That's actually kind of a timely binge on your part right now considering it's based in San Francisco and the ocd germophobe is such an integral aspect of the character.

reply

Ha! I hadn't thought about the timeliness of it but yes it is. I was looking for something fun and engaging, and there's not a lot of that around.

I still laugh just at the thought of the episodes where he ended up in a sewer with raw sewage, and in a hotel with a black light lighting up his room like a klieg lamp 😄

reply

Point Break is one of those guilty pleasures for me.
It's exhilarating while also slightly stoopid.

reply

Just what I thought.

reply

I’ve never seen the French Connection. What did you think of it?

reply

It’s one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. Just so exhilarating!

reply

I watched French Connection for the first time because of your post. 👍

reply

How was it?

reply

I really liked it. Great early 70’s crime film. 👍

reply

It was great
You might enjoy The Seven-Ups (73) as well
The guy that helped produce Bullit and The French Connection directed it

Talk about badass car chases man!

reply

The Seven-ups and Bullit car chases were out of this world. And the cars didn't have anti-lock brakes.

reply

Or airbags, maybe even power-steering
Stunt Men are crazy!

reply

I will add it to my list. 👍

You have eclectic tastes.

Reminds me I've still got to see the French Connection. I haven't seen Sharky's Machine, but that one's not quite as high on my must see list.

reply

I have seen all of those and liked them all..
