Pets

Have you ever had any pets?
When I was a kid I had a parakeet who lived in an open wooden platform with a mirror, some bells, and a little ladder for it to climb. One day my mom opened the back door and the bird flew out. I cried my eyes out.
I also had two hamsters, male and female. The female had babies and the male ate them and killed the female.
Then I had a goldfish that lived for 10 years!
That was the end of my owning a per.
These days I feed a feral cat that comes to my front porch every morning and eats the dry cat food I leave for it.

Oh, and I forgot to add I had a bunny and a turtle. Unfortunately a raccoon ate the feet off the bunny and it died.

Not on my own. When I was a kid we had a Pug. When I was a young adult living at home my mom took in a feral kitten that turned into a nice cat.

When my sister was around 10 years old she had a mouse, which I recently asked her about. She said it turned out to have been pregnant when it was purchased and ate its babies under my sister's ownership. I had no memory of this even though my sister was completely distraught at the time, she says. What a horrible and sad thing for a kid to go through.

I’ll list pets in the past 15 years since that is about when my kids have helped otherwise we would have never had most of these animals.
Pets included dogs, cats, goats, ducks, turkey, chickens, fish, pigeons, a horse, and a snake.

I also had a parakeet and my mother also allowed him to escape, never to be seen again!

My partner and I adopted a cat four years ago. He was found half dead having been hit by a car but survived his surgery - even though his heart stopped for a while - and is now thriving, your typical lazy, greedy but very affectionate old boy.

When I was younger I had gerbils, fish, a rabbit... I have always been obsessed with animals.

Yes, lots of dogs and cats. I have an sign in my front yard that is only visible to stray cats that says - "Stop here - she will take care of you."

Growing up I had some dogs, cats, a hamster, gerbil and an iguana, but in my adult years it's been nothing but doggies.
