I'm with you on that one. I used to enjoy the song, but it doesn't have repeat listenability like many of the greatest songs of rock.

"Colitas" means "little tails" in Spanish; in Mexican slang it refers to buds of the cannabis (marijuana) plant. According to Glenn Frey, the "warm smell" is "colitas... it means little tails, the very top of the plant."
I guess it makes sense being that the Eagles were a bunch of druggies.
I doubt I've ever been that high...I'm sort of square...I should start smoking colitas, assuming they are plants and NOT butts!
