Is Taken a guilty pleasure or a genuinely good movie?

I think it’s a genuinely good movie and one of the best action films of the 2000s. I always enjoy watching it, some of the best fight choreography I’ve seen.

I don't know if it's one or the other. I found it somewhat lacking in terms of action set pieces, but it's undeniable how it basically birthed an entire subgenre and gave Liam Neeson a significant late career boost in the process.

I have the belief that he was dead in that movie and in an afterlife.

Much of it didn't seem real and what was kind of a boring movie got interesting.
