Reservoir Dogs is extremely overrated

A very rough draft for Pulp Fiction

I saw that movie for the first time last year, and the only thing that's good about it is the death scene with one of the gangsters (won't say who , because it would be a massive spoiler). His death results in one of the best pay offs I've ever seen in a movie. But for the most part, it's just a lot of yakkety yak yak yak. If it weren't for that death scene, Reservoir Dogs would've been a dud.

It was a lot more exciting and interesting back in the day when it came out.

Yep. It's kind of unfair to go back and rank it against his later work. When I first saw RD it was fresh and exciting and different. It was unique and a glimpse of what was to come.

reply

I agree. I rank it near the bottom of QT's movies.

Yeah

The timeline skipped around like PF but otherwise it's a very different movie. And remember this was QTs first attempt at a movie. What really stood out to me is the dialogue. The opening diner scene was fantastic along with the scene when Joe was giving everybody names for the robbery. Dialogue is where QT really shines.

You're insane! It's better than Pulp Fiction! It's Tarantino's best, it only went downhill from there.

reply

Nope. Excellent movie!

reply

It’s a great film.

reply

Tarantino is extremely over rated, so it makes sense.
