January 21: SQUIRREL APPRECIATION DAY!

Yes, it's the most precious day of the year where we celebrate the world's cutest rodents!

I'm not asking anyone to skip work or school, but at the very least, please put out some sustenance for our bushy-tailed friends, especially if you live somewhere with snow on the ground. Food and water can be harder to find at this time of year, so helping out can be a simple way of saying "thank you for just being you".

If you live near Grand Ledge, MI, Rookery Bay, FL, Greenville, SC, or Bangor, ME, please check your local listings regarding planned activities for this special day!

As we admire the dexterity, the persistence, the vivacity, the grace, and the deep-thinking intellectualism of squirrels, please do not let anyone dismiss them as an "invasive species", a term much more befitting academia and our elected "officials".

Let's get out there and appreciate! Have fun!

Squirrel pie is yummy.

Other than that, the critters are useless.

I love squirrels! They're so cute!❤🐿❤

reply

I join you in saluting the noble squirrel.

reply

Squirrels are nothing more than annoying fuzzy tailed tree rats.

reply

Yes, squirrels are rodents. They get inside a home’s walls and cause havoc. If they had wings, they would be pigeons.

Real wizards do not esteem tree rats.

“The deep thinking of squirrels”?!
🤮 Really?

When the hell did rodents start thinking?

As Squirrel Appreciation Day 2020 comes to a close, I would just like to say THANK YOU to all who participated by remembering and appreciating our bushy-tailed friends!

Like the pop group Climax exclaimed in their (only) hit from 1971-72: "Precious and few are the rodents we too can share!"

And don't forget October is Squirrel Awareness Month: see you then!

In your dreams.

Does Squirrel season open in October where you live also?
