Who do you prefer?

As an actor: Van Damme
As an action star: Schwarzenegger
Better movies: Schwarzenegger

reply

Arnie's made the best movies, but I've always preferred bad Arnie movies than bad movies from all the other guys

reply

Marry Stallone
Kill Schwarzenegger
Fuck Van Damme

Commit Seagal to an institution.

reply

I think I like your game better.

reply

REPORTED for totally changing the rules!
This is not a game I want to play, although Stallone really is dreamy:)

reply

So don't play than you big wussy.

reply

IMPORTED...into my heart Laura:)

I can get away with that, cause we're friends, right?

Actor: Stallone
Better movies: Tie, Stallone/Arnie

I'm largely indifferent to Van Damme and Steven 'runs like a fat flabby child' Seagal can go to hell

reply

I never understood the appeal of Seagal. There isn't a single movie he's done that I would recommend as good fun.

reply

And he's no fun
He's a shallow, morbidly obese bore

reply

I actually liked Seagal in Executive Decision.
He was onscreen for only a few short minutes, then poof, he's dead.
Thus he had no time to wreck the film.

reply

Stallone in all three.

reply

Stallone for all three he is the only one of the four who at least try to act and write semi decent scripts.

And why no Chuck?

reply

Is Chuck Norris really going to win any of these categories though?

reply

Sorry to cut in
No, he wouldn't, frankly Chuck was usually a wooden actor in Cannon type films but I really enjoyed him a lot!

Chuck was great in Code of Silence, Lone Wolf McQuade, The Hero and the Terror and Silent Rage...at least imo

reply

This is so funny! I was also thinking about this subject a few days ago and wondering if I should start a thread. Then I realized I had forgotten all about Norris and imagined that one of you guys (you were the first on my list!) would've come in to tell me off!😆

reply

I never argue with anyone, I'm a friendly Shogun😎

reply

But of course! My apologies, I meant to say "inform me of my carelessness".😬

reply

I'm always polite like that👍

reply

Most the action guys are bad actors. Arnie has a sense of humour to make up for it, Stallone for the action genre is brilliant by comparison.

The rest are mostly wooden really. But Chuckles should still be included none the less

reply

No but I'd rate him ahead of Seagal.

reply

The best Chuck Norris movie is the one where he lost to Bruce Lee.

reply

E. Dolph Lundgren

reply

Ya know he has a Master's in chemical engineering or some such thing. He's a keeper.

reply

Crazily enough the guy was stronger AND smarter than anyone we know!

True story

reply

Oh-ho-ho, I know. Trust, I know allllllll about that sensational specimen of manly Viking God!! 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

reply

🤩

reply

Vikings fucking RULE. Dolph keeps on ticking. He’s the funniest of the bunch; he MADE The Expendables. He can star in total crap, and still be charming. He, like Matthias Hues (another overlooked muscle Titan) is completely juice-free and all natural. Like Norris, he’s a legit martial-arts champion. Stallone had the good sense to start his career by putting him in the Rocky franchise (“I must BREAK you!”) And he’s about twice as fast as Arnie, who is REALLY slow, even in his prime, for an action star.

But you want a big guy with muscles, BUILD, speed, looks, charisma and genuine fighting chops? Three words: Michael Jai White.

And we can also talk about Gina Carano . . .

Or, if we’re really considering on the basis of acting, action star, better movie (albeit on the basis of 1 and 1/10 movies), submitted for your consideration: Gal Gadot: better actress than any of the men named, used sheer force of personality to SELL herself as a top-tier action star right out of the box, starred in and saved the crap B v S and knocked it out of the solar system in Wonder Woman.

reply

Dark Angel (I Come in Peace)!!!!

Oh and yes, Mr. White is another fav. He's from just a few towns away from me. That man is a freaking Titan!!!!

reply

If you’re on a system like Comcast, do a search for Matthias. I come up with 17 films, most of them DTV and starring folks like Robert Davi, Kelly Hu, Sam Jones and Jenilee Harrison that are guilty pleasures. I think you might enjoy them.

reply

He stated that they were going to do a sequel to Dark Angel awhile back. He's still waiting on it though. I hope they do it!!

reply

Let’s not put Brian Benben in the sequel. Keep it strictly between Matthias and Dolph.

This is terrible, but when I see 2 loser guys “working out” together at the gym, I chuckle, “Heh. Matthias and Dolph.” I am an evil person.

reply

Chemical engineering sounds so Breaking Bad.

reply

His father was an engineer. Read his IMDb profile, the man has legit skills.

reply

Making drugs is a legit skill. But yes I know he is smarter than he appears.

reply

I.Q. of 160!! He's the absolute Total Package!!!!

reply

Just a few Credits & Thesis short of his doctorate.

reply

That’s impressive. I never knew that about him. He was apparently also admitted to MIT but did not go to be an actor.

reply

👍

reply

Forgot about him.

reply

Interesting, I was just thinking about this the other day.

Stallone is actually the only one I would call an "actor". If he didn't have that speech impediment he would probably be taken more seriously. Seagal sucks, I only like under Siege and it's not because of him.

As for Van Damme and Schwarzenegger. You're probably right Van Damme's a better actor, although it took him a couple of years, in the beginning he acted like a little kid. And his accent does still get in the way. Schwarzenegger has more charisma, but his accent is an even bigger problem. Maybe his acting would appear better if he didn't sound so ridiculous. I always thought he was overrated, to be honest.

Hard to say who has the best movies.

I've often thought this about Schwarzenegger. He's also kind of funny looking. I think more people would appreciate him if it wasn't for these two things that he has no control over.
