Some actors hit the big time after 40 and really grew into their looks.
I think that Robert Downy Jnr and Anthony Hopkins are two men that are more striking and therefore better actors with a more mature face.

Sorry, but I think pretty much everybody goes downhill after 40. There are folks who still look good, but better? I had to think hard to come up with someone and Patrick Dempsey might be one of the few who improved as he got older due to a nose job and some weight gain.
