I'm 40 hours into my 72 hour fast

Feeling light headed now. Just going to stay in bed and watch movies.

Why am I doing this? Your body starts to regenerate cells after 48 hours. Inflammation goes down. Immune system strengthens. Brain cells grow and repair. It's the closest thing we can do to drinking from a fountain of youth.

I'm curious to see if it will help with my inflammation of my left eye (due to shingles in 2015) and my tinnitus.

CAN I HAVE YOUR POSTS WHEN YOU DIE...YOURE OBVIOUSLY GOING TO DIE..YOU KNOW THAT RIGHT?..DEATH IS A GIVEN.

reply

My tinnitus doesn’t sound so bad.
That’s because you’re bloody dying.
I see a bright light.
You know what, just head towards the white light ffs.

reply

I will leave you my posts.

reply

5 hours to go until your cells start regenerating. Staying in bed and watching movies is a good plan, with plenty of liquids at hand.

Let us know if it helps with your eye and the tinnitus.

reply

Thanks. I feel like my ears have calmed down, the eye seems a little worse than normal.

reply

Potentially good news on your ears. It's possible your eye seems a little worse because sometimes with these things inflammation gets worse before it gets better as the toxins work their way out of your body.

reply

Yeah sounds correct.

I suffer tinnitus too, so I'll be really interested to see if it makes any difference to your hearing long term. Have to say I'm dubious, my tinnitus was a result of attending a concert at 13 and being seated almost directly in front of a speaker. I'm finding it hard to conceive how fasting would have any positive effect on my hearing damage.

reply

There are people saying it helps. I suffer hyperacusis (sensitivity to bangs) and now to tinitus. I sleep with music playing in my ears as I hate ringing.

reply

I have tinnitus in one ear too. At first it drove me up a wall. Now most of the time I don't notice it, except when I'm going to sleep. Instead of music I watch a movie or TV show. Sometimes I just listen so I can close my eyes.

I really hope this fast works for you.

Thanks.

How are you doing today?

reply

This is pseudoscience. Your cells are always dying and being replaced. A 72-hour fast is extreme.

OP, does any of this have to do with losing weight?

reply

Not my motivation but I don't mind losing a little fat on my belly. I'm not overweight. I've lost 2 kilos (4.4 pounds).

reply

I assumed this was referring to specific cells. They don't all die and replace at the same rate.

reply

Bang your head against a wall. It always helps me.

reply

why are you doing this..hmm

reply

A Youtuber I watch did a 21 day fast, broke it with raw eggs and had an appendicitis attack lol. That's obviously on the extreme side, but the human body is resilient and can handle 3 days no problem. Obviously just be careful.

reply

I don’t agree with shingles

reply

I’ve done it for 7 days. Lost 27 pounds. Kept the weight off for about a year without dieting or exercise.

People who think it’s unsafe don’t realize that we haven’t had consistently always-ready food until about two hundred years ago. People a thousand years back would sometimes go off of one meal every two days.

The worst days are the first days. After that, you actually start to feel quite good, even lively. You do crash a bit sooner than usual, but it’s really not a terrible experience at all.

reply

I guess it didn't strengthen your immune system.

reply

Or maybe it did where needed. I've had a few weird throat moments with this and it hasn't progressed. I wonder if I hadn't fasted whether it would have spread and I'd be on a respirator right now.

reply

You are proof that it did not work. Just maintain a healthy weight and avoid the pseudoscience nonsense.
