I guess you only have to ask yourself what happens if you fall in love with a career woman. Would you expect her to give that up so you get what you want? If so that might be veering closer to the sexist lane.

Well, I'm part of that 'rest of the world' and I can tell, somebody has been lying to you, because you're completely wrong.
1. The 'rest of the world' doesn't give a shit about firearms and gun laws in US. Gun laws in US is seen as a peculiarity of the American system.
What's heavily criticized is the Health system, way more expensive and inefficient (Obamacare included) than the European ones. Another criticized element are the flaws in the law system, which isn't based in Roman law. Actually, I was talking this xmas about that with my cousin, who is a lawyer.
2. The 'rest of the world" doesn't give a shit about the gigantic military. Actually, the main concern is the decline of US's military, which has been infected by the anti-meritocracy trend and seems more and more inefficient. It's a matter of time that China surpasses US's military: that's the concern. Beware of the new boss.
3. Yeap, Hispanics tend to be very nice. That's actually one of the biggest flaws in Latin America and one of the causes of persistent poverty. A society thrives when people are assertive and resolute. The social virtue of being nice, which a peculiarity of Hispanic cultures, leads to jobs badly done and the inability to stop inefficacy, endemic problems in Latin America... which are now invading US.

Probably living in the wrong decade. I don't know if it's sexist, but would say it's an outdated idea. That's not to say there aren't some women out there who would like nothing better than to be a stay-at-home homemaker. So there. 😉
