I don't think people truly appreciate George Michael's talent

Take for example the song "everything she wants", he was 21 when he did that. The vocal for his age is off the charts. Perfect pitch, perfect breathe control. No autotune needed.

He had the lungs of an opera singer.

Yet I never hear people say "best male vocalist of the 80s".

reply

I never forgave him for 'Last Christmas'. So gay it broke the gayometer.

reply

Even gayer than Elton John?

reply

Hard to quantify. Elton John was the Screaming Queen type whereas George Michael was the softly, softly creep up on you from behind type.

reply

Surprise buttsecks!

reply

George Michael was gayer. You'd see it if you just had faith, faith, faith.

I'll leave now.

reply

Last Christmas is fantastic, one of the best modern Christmas songs!

reply

How on earth is that song gay?

reply

He was a very talented, yet very troubled person.

reply

He was troubled, and that certainly gets too much focus.

reply

I think his fans did. And that's all that matters.

reply

Amen!

😎

reply

He was a good vocalist, just wasn't my cup of tea.

reply

He was as talented as Michael Jackson

reply

Good voice, mediocre material.

It's not that people don't appreciate his talent. It's that back then, that kind of vocal ability at that age (late teens, early 20s) was pretty standard, so no one really thinks about it. That's how high a standard we used to have back then. It was normal for young singers to sing well.
