Do you prefer concrete or abstract art?

Concrete art (edit: actually I mean, representational art) is art that is based on real life things like animals, plants, nature, and stuff like that.

Abstract Art is based off stuff like geometrical shapes (like cubes, grids, spheres, etc.).

I like both, but abstract art is more captivating to me for some reason.

Ah, Escher! His work is pretty cool.

Concrete. By far.

I like an occasional piece of abstract art, but no more. Concrete art, on the other hand, can convey a world of information about history, nature, or... human nature. Or, the sheer beauty of light.

I'm hesitant to start with this, because art is my world and once I get started I'm afraid I'll take it way too far, but here are a few examples of paintings by one of my favorite painters, who has a tendency to blur the line between representation and abstraction, Charles Burchfield:

You got it!
Good thread topic.
I'll try to post some more art later on.

Love both, but I lean more toward representational. Mainly because I'm a huge fan of book illustrations, which, though fantastical, are technically representational. But I mean, art is amazing. Mixing the two styles is really fun as well.

Abstract if its within the last 50 years. Its more fun. Going to a Modern Art Museum is so fun and seeing all the strange stuff. But my all time favorite is just classic Van Gogh Paintings. I feel like his work is timeless. I saw it in my 20s and I still feel like it speak to me.
