Why are serial killers fascinating?
Or is it just me?
shareMaybe because the neural connections in their brains are so completely alien to ours.
shareBut a lot of them also are intelligent and charismatic.
shareWell yeah, some of them are but I don't understand your point in relation to King's answer.
Clarify?
That there are other factors why they are interesting other then a brain alien to us like high iq and charisma.
And I just wonder why they are often charismatic and intelligent.
Oh. True. I think he was just making that point. It's valid.
It is odd that so many appear to be more charming and smarter than average.
I have a hard time understanding why they would make murder their consuming interest when it seems so... I dunno, two dimensional I guess. You could say that there isn't much future in it.
For someone apparently gifted with those qualities, there are countless other pursuits that I think would yield greater rewards.
It obviously isn't just you, as some serial killers are still talked and theorized about to this day. As to why, it's probably just because they're different from the norm, not boring like the rest of us, same reason anyone's famous really
shareMost people want to know "why?' when it comes to a mystery. Trying to decipher the actions of a monster really brings out their curiosity to answer the question.
shareRichard Kuklinski Is the scariest killer I’ve ever heard about because he was a hit man who had no emotion about killing for a contract hit but would also kill just for the hell of it.
He did not fit the bill of the normal serial killer who killed for the gratification of the act. Very scary man.
Part of it is that most of them manage to live very normal lives and hiding their true selves.
shareFascinating? Serial killers are deranged people who have a grudge against life in general. That's why some commit suicide.
