Kill Tony: "The #1 Live Podcast in the World!"

Anyone else following this show?

One day a few years ago I decided I really wanted to hear some stand up comedians bombing hard. In my quest for the finest stand up cringe I eventually discovered Kill Tony, was immediately hooked, and have been listening religiously ever since. At some point I went back and started from episode 1 and by now I've seen virtually all 400-something episodes. It's fascinating to see how it's evolved.

Here's a link for anyone who's unfamiliar:

The premise is that "Top Young Rising Comedian" Tony Hinchcliffe, along with his producer Redban, (who started the Joe Rogan Experience,) and usually one or more famous comedian guest(s) host a panel at The World Famous Comedy Store in L.A. every Monday night. Anyone in attendance can put their name in a bucket to be randomly chosen to do an uninterrupted minute of stand up, and then be interviewed, hang with the panel, have their jokes tagged and punched up, and get roasted. Sometimes it's an established comic, sometimes undiscovered talent, often people trying it for the first time, and sometimes crazy people who don't know where they are or how they got there. There's also a live band, who are also comedians, and who dress up as novel surprise characters on each episode and make zingers throughout.

In contrast to all the TV shows you might be thinking this sounds similar to, like The Voice or whatever, it's not a competition, and is a completely unedited, raw, anything goes, rowdy, freewheelin' real experience.
When it's bad it's at least fascinating. When it's good it absolutely rips.

If you're into comedy, and especially if you're interested in the inner workings of the comedy world, the artform and lifestyle, as the late great Steven Brody Stevens would say, "ENJOY IT!"

Sounds interesting. I will check it out.

It's funny, I've watched hundreds of hours of JRE where Joe often talks about his stand-up act, but I've never seen him do a set. I think he has a Netflix special now.
