Michael Jackson's "Thriller" or "Bad"?

Which of these two MJ albums from the 1980's do you like better and why?

Me I thought "Thriller" was a much better album and it represented Michael Jackson at his highest peak, "Bad" had some great songs but him singing "Shamone" all the time can get a little grating at times.

Thriller all the way
Nostalgia may play a role here tbh

That MTV video was a neighborhood event
We all watched it together
Good time!

reply

I concur! I remember the video being a big deal and the adults having a watch party.

reply

Yeah, every kid on the block piled into my house to watch
MTV kept replaying the video every 30 minutes so it was a long, fun kids party

reply

I find Bad more catchy.

reply

Of the two I prefer Thriller, however, my favourite MJ album is Off The Wall.

reply

agreed. off the wall is his best album to me.
i also really like the jacksons lp 'destiny.'

reply

A lot of the songs on Off The Wall were written by English songwriter, Rod Temperton, who had hits with Heatwave (Boogie Night’s being the most well known).

"Thriller", hands down!

😎

reply

I only like singles from "Thriller".

Overall. "Bad" is much more creative and interesting. Not to mention diverse.

Anyway, "Dangerous" (1991) is BY FAR my favorite MJ album

reply

Got to go with Thriller.

reply

Bad. Beat It is my favourite Jackson song, but Bad has better songs overall.

reply

Out of the two, I think I prefer Bad but only by a very small margin. There are just a couple more songs on Bad that I really like compared to Thriller.
