I understand if you’re busy, we all are. But if you don’t even respond later on or when you become available you are dogshit.

I think your on the wrong site. Many of us , including me just learned how to text. Seriously my first text was like 2 years ago. We're old here.

shareMy best friend and I were about 17 or 18 and we were in her mom's mini van on a freeway and wound up with two flat tires. Couldn't find the spare. Back before cell phones and not a damn person stopped. So we had to walk and find a payphone. We did not want to face the wrath of her mom by ruining her rims.

It's not safe to be helpless out there on the highway, so take a course on basic automotive repair

Most 'helpful' guys are pretty nice but I'd wager 5/100 are up to something sinister..don't gamble with your safety
The last 3 cars I’ve had have all come with run flats - very handy.

BMW don't even bother with a spare tyre anymore. The manual says to stay below 70mph and drive no more than about 50 miles, which is great for the UK [might be a problem in parts of the US, Canadia (sic) and Oz]. I only had to use it once (I must have driven over a nail or something) - the onboard computer flashed up a warning and I headed for the nearest garage, job done.
You're right, they should be a standard feature.

shareI held out getting a smart phone until just about a year ago. My flip phone was fine, but it died. Now I have one, but it's a 2017 model that cost $150 (still a lot, I think). There's no way I would spend hundreds for something that could easily be lost or dropped and broken. I rarely use it for anything other than phone calls and a few texts. But it's nice to know that if I should become stranded on the road, I can find help (tow truck, whatever) more easily.

I spend so much time on my desktop that having a computer-phone is totally unnecessary for me or my lifestyle.
Me too.
I also have several laptops and carry a tablet in my pocketbook. Why do I need a smartphone?
Maybe in a few years my lifestyle might change but now its work and home or somewhere I have internet access.
I can text on my cell phone if need be and I only pay $10 a month.
I don't care about twitter or Instagram or FB or any of those.
It's kind of nice to know I'm not the only one besides me, my husband and my brother..

shareI get texts all the time which I don’t open. I also rcv phone calls which I don’t answer. If I don’t know the texter? (Is it in the lexicon yet?), I delete. If I don’t know the number I mute. My husband still carries a basic flip phone. He hates phones so making calls and receiving is all he needs. I don’t like texting, but I do it for short communications. Also, my granddaughter can do the swipe text while at work, but not make or rcv calls.

shareI understand what you are saying. When I text people and I don't hear back from them, I think it is really inconsiderate of them. People should respond to you; it's the right thing to do....
shareYou did not be specific about yourself and your pals, but if you are texting more than one time every day. That is called emotional involvement and it doesn't matter what gender you are. Husband or wife will not have their married partner ignore them to talk to their buddies. Huh-uh. I think you ought to rethink about texting rules.
