If Anyone Can Get Through This News Report Without Tears Re: A Most Selfless Act,

You are stronger than me. 😅 God is good! For those who don’t believe in God, believe, especially in these turbulent times the heart can be good. I don’t know if I could be so giving. 🤷🏼‍♀️ May God bless them while they travel their new road in life. Such a heartwarming story.

What a story...I didn't tear up, that was just a cigarette ash that got in my eye!

Seriously, what a wonderful lady she is

There are lots of really fine people in the world, despite what we may sometimes think

Thanks k!

Those cigarette ashes will get you every time! 😢 Try vaping as the mist is in the air and will give you a much better excuse for watery eyes. 😬

reply

I really lost it when I saw her husband cry! 😢

You lasted longer than me!
Wonderful family

The type family we all would be fortunate to have. So much strife in this world. So many families being at odds over politics with each other at Thanksgiving. Anger rises up and what does it solve? Nothing!

I watched a guy on the news this week give the best piece of advice on what not to do over Thanksgiving. Talk politics! Hang a sign on the door “Check your politics at the door.” Everyone make an effort to talk about old times. Talk about those who are no longer with us. Talk about so many other things. He mentioned people get to drinking, followed by politics then all hell breaks loose. Kids start cowering, grandparents try to become invisible, etc. If someone brings it into the conversation remind said person what is hanging on the door. Most of us will be miserable enough after stuffing ourselves, we surely don’t need to feel worse over arguments.

May God bless the family for this selfless act...

“1 Corinthians 13:4-8. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

I appreciate your message k
Certain topics should be left at the door like muddy boots

Let's (yet again) take the reins this holiday season and steer the family conversation to gentler subjects like good music, great books and fine movies

Happy Holidays k🥃🥃♥️

You got it sweet cakes! 😘 I wish you had joined in on my OP last evening. We had a blast! Miss GlenE was in top form. If you have time and want a few laughs do read it. When db wrote he could imagine dewey 😇 being involved, I replied we would be on the floor! I was laughing so hard I couldn’t type! Fast and furious...that was MissGlenE!

It's good to see compassion still exists. The media doesn't report these types of stories that often. Maybe if we saw more stories like this there would be more hope in the world.

reply

The reason that the press doesn't report more stories like this is because people would rather watch bad news instead. I used to live in Houston many years ago and a news station there tried broadcasting a news show that was all good news. After about three weeks the show was canceled because hardly anyone tuned in. The ratings went back up when they went back to reporting bad news. I guess it's human nature.

reply

If I recall correctly, I once heard “If it bleeds...it leads!” TV news would not last without Mischief, Murder, & Mayhem!

Good news is boring.

Great story!

This got to me yesterday, probably the best episode of this program I've seen. Kids are so unabashedly sincere https://www.wwe.com/videos/stephanie-mcmahon-meets-inspiring-young-wwe-fan-enzo-on-cbss-undercover-boss-celebrity

It makes a pleasant change to see something nice.

Very sweet.

reply

Excellent! I hope this family will be able to make it in the future as well. I'm sure it's still going to be tough.

reply

It will be tough, but they have great community support. The tough part is working with kids who just lost their mother. More than likely they will feel like outsiders. I wonder where the dad is and if living will he give this family grief. Grandparents? I admire this couple and their children.

Thanks for sharing this great story, k.

reply

You’re quite welcome. It’s one of those great human interest stories which needs to be shared. So much gloom and doom these days. So much thinking of self and not of others.
