Spinal Tap is awesome and rather special because although it is a spoof of the hard rock/metal genre it also seems to be made with love (the actors can actually play their instruments). It's also embraced by metal heads as more of an accurate portrayal!
There are quite a few scenes that were inspired by real life events. The Stonehenge debacle as well as the dwarf, both Black Sabbath stories.
