But there were several characters in this movie. Are we thinking about the same pic?
A mad scientist type and a little pack of ragamuffins? Little doll creatures.
Oh God, there were two films that came out around the same time, one called "Nine" and the other "9". One was about sentient sock puppets, the other was a terrible musical ripoff of Fellini's "8 1/2". Neither qualifies for this thread.
The closest such movie I remember is "The Martian", where Matt Damon spends most of the movie alone on Mars. But there are other characters seen back on Earth.
Also there are other characters at the beginning and when they finally picked him up.
