Ridiculous recommendations

Here are a few ridiculous recommendations that Netflix, for some insane reason, thinks I should be interested in:

Women Behind Bars
Chicken Little
Serial Killer with Piers Morgan
My Little Pony
How to be a Latin Lover

I'm not quite sure what to think.

Mixed messages there for sure GE!

reply

I know! I'm still shaking my head and chuckling. Sheesh.

reply

If Women Behind Bars would happen to be made in the 70โ€™s I think Iโ€™d watch it. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

reply

I just checked; it's a reality TV series from 2010, 3 seasons.

reply

Yuck!

I remember years ago on IMDb, I was on the page for Magnolia and they recommended An American Werewolf in London. I couldn't figure out why.

reply

I can't help you there. I'm still puzzling over mine. I should check to see what TubiTV recommends for me. I think they make suggestions...

reply

I think yours is telling you that Piers Morgan likes little Latin lovers who are in jail.

reply

๐Ÿคฃ Excellent answer! You get bonus points.

reply

The Serial killer show sounds good and I probably saw The Ladies in Jail one...or something like it

Yep, Netflix is really shitty at recommending shows

Check out Peaky Blinders on Netflix sometime...it's very good

reply

TubiTV is doing a better job. The list includes quite a few that make sense based on what I watched last week. But then...

Storage Wars
American Pickers
Behind Bars (not the pub kind)
Celebrity House Hunting
Bad Ink

reply

Celebrity House Hunting sounds awesome!

reply

Could be, but I'm trying to figure out why they think I'd be interested. I haven't watched anything, that I know of, that should trigger this kind of recommendation.

reply

Serial killer could have been interesting if Piers Morgan was able to understand how to talk to these kinds of people. He completely ruins it with his arrogant attitude and makes these serial killers clam up. He's such an idiot.

reply

Netflix has weird categories too, I remember Fear (1996) and Sleeping With the Enemy (1991) coming up on a list for romantic movies for Valentine's Day.

reply

Yep, real heart-warming romance there. LOL.

reply

Jeez
Kramer vs. Kramer seems positively love-tastic by comparison

a few years back, i watched king kelly, a really fun but fairly dirty & sleazy found footage film on tubitv, and tubi's algorithm recommended kirk cameron's saving christmas to watch next.

that still tickles me a fair bit.

reply

If you watched Kirk Cameron, would they recommend King Kelly??

reply

possibly, but saving christmas is no longer there, so i can't run the test. i think tubi's algorithmic recommendations have improved quite a bit over the years. i actually find them fairly useful now.

reply

It's an interesting thought, though - testing to see what recommendations one gets. The next time I watch a movie I should note what they suggest I watch next.
