Depends what movie. If I respect the movie and haven't seen it before, usually not

shareSame here. There are certain ones I’ve seen many times that are good background movies. Aguirre: Wrath of God (1972) is one I use frequently.
shareI can do it with music (quite often we have an MTV channel on the TV, whilst I'm doing other stuff), but with films I just get sucked in. Like you, my friend tends to do it with stuff his seen a million times.

Too distracting. Even music with lyrics is often too distracting.
