What's your favorite Christmas movie?

Die Hard - Bruce Willis and Alan Rickman

Mr Magoo’s A Christmas Carol (1962)

reply

I forgot all about Mr Magoo! They were great cartoons.

Bad santa

reply

Good one. Seems all too common these days, tho.

reply

I second Bad Santa. Funny AF.

reply

Hallmark Channel's "Family for Christmas" (2015)!

reply

Haven't seen it

reply

Scrooge (1970) The musical with Albert Finney, it was an annually traditional viewing at my house

reply

There's a classic. I like the parody, Scrooged, that Bill Murray did, too. Tho it seems like everyone else hated it, including Bill.

reply

Same. I love it.

reply

That's the version I like best along with Alistair Sim's from 1951

reply

Scrooge (1951) with Alastair Sim is my favorite traditional Christmas movie.

Trapped In Paradise is a good alternative if you're seen the traditional ones too often.

reply

Never heard of Trapped in Paradise. I see it's got an all star cast. Is it funny?

reply

I think so. It grew on me from Okay to Fun.

reply

Sounds like it was just "okay" at the boxoffice. I kinda like just "okay" movies. Nobody was crazy about "Water World" but I watch it whenever it's on.

reply

Nicolas Cage and Jon Lovitz are especially good with Florence Stanley as their mom not far behind.

Lately I've been thinking that Water World can't be as bad as everyone seems to think, so I'll be watching it soon. Hopefully, since there's a lot of older ones I keep running across.

reply

I really liked the idea behind it. You have to just accept it for the science fiction fantasy that it is. People start picking movies apart and destroy the entertainment value. It's a bit like watching pro wrestling - you're not supposed to take these things seriously; it's just for fun ;)

reply

agree on Alastair Sim's version. I love Alastair Sim.

here's another one of his :
