Scary movies....

Since it is close to Halloween, I was wondering what everyone's scary movies are or are currently watching....I have been watching 31 days of Halloween on Syfy channel. They constantly air one of my favorites- Nightmare on Elm Street. :)

If you haven't seen it , try The Ring 2002

reply

I saw it. Love that movie!!!

reply

If you don't mind subtitles, try A Tale of two sisters. I've mentioned it on the site before, its one of my all time favorite . If you want funny I recommend Happy Death Day.

reply

I loved Happy Death Day, it was excellent. The sequel, IMO, was awful and I couldn't watch more than 20 minutes of it.

The Ring (2002) like someone else said is very, very creepy. The Exorcist (1973) is one of the scariest films ever made.

reply

I rented the Exorcist with my friend when we were 12 years old. I remember that day; it was very dark outside and raining. We watched the Exorcist at my parents house. We both cried and were super scared. I remember I slept in my parents bed for two weeks straight after seeing that movie....

I saw it in the movie theater after waiting in line for 2 hours in a snow storm. And it was definitely worth it!

I just saw a movie called All Hallow's Eve that was very creepy, twisted and graphic. For some reason I had never heard of it until recently and it was really something. You might want to check it out if you haven't already.

reply

That's awesome. That's cool that you saw that in the theater. That must have been quite an experience!!!!

reply

Yeah, it was. We waited months for it to come out and when it did, initially it was a limited release so we had to go to Manhattan (from Brooklyn) during a severe snow storm, almost got frost bite waiting in line, but we made it and we saw it and we were very happy we did. Of course I've seen the move many times over the years, it's just so good!

reply

It really is very good. One of the best horror movies ever made...

reply

I don't care how old you are if you sit by yourself and see the exorcist for the first time, you will be both amazed and scared. I saw it for the first time at 30, and watched it every six months after that for like 3 years. Loved it.

When Halloween, Phantasm and The Exorcist originally came out in theaters in '78, '79 and '73 respectively (I think) they terrified me. My friends laughed at me.
I don't watch many horror movies, especially the gore fests. If I want to be scared or sickened I watch the news.

The Changeling 1980

I saw that so many years ago I barely remember it. I think it's time to watch it again. It gets great reviews.

reply

It’s a great one with George C Scott.

reply

I want to see that one!

Saw Hell Fest the other night and really liked it. But my favorite is She Creature. Carla Gugino is great in it.

Ha ha! The first time I saw that I crapped myself

I would like to recommend The Woman in Black (1989). This is one that really gets under my skin. It’s a UK production and has an old style feel to it.

reply

Love this one. Heard a lot of hype and was disappointed at the very start but it just gets better

If you ever wake up in the middle of the night and hear a noise in your room then start thinking of “her” appearing at your bedside.

Never mind. I need to go back to sleep. 😳

If you have Movies! channel, dvr "The Blob" tomorrow morning. 10am central(my time). Not sure if they have cut anything out, but that's a good one. Also if you do have that channel it's playing Frankenstein and Dracula movies all day Halloween.
How about "The Others" from 2001 with Nicole Kidman. I thought it a nice eerie tale.
Sleepy Hollow 1999.
even Disney's "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" although animated it's still awesome. free on internet sites.
Killer Klowns from Outer Space... gotta have a sense of humor with this one... available free with Youtube, Tubi and Vudu.
Return of the Living Dead 1985 and Return of the Living Dead 2 1988.
The Hitcher 1986.
Poltergeist 1982
Hellraiser 1987
Fright Night 1985 and Fright Night 2 1988
Halloween 3 Season of the Witch 1982. It's great because it has nothing to do with Mike.
An American Werewolf in London 1981
Teen Witch 1989
