I just finished watching "The Fanatic" and shame on all of you for not telling me about this film before. It's one of the worst films of the year and is completely unintentionally hysterical. John Travolta is so incredibly bad in it and Fred Durst's direction is... well... exactly what you think it would be. The movie is so completely illogical and pointless. It's a 2/10 but also simultaneously a must-see.
The thing is, he's hilariously bad every single scene. His name is Moose in the movie and there is a scene where he enters someone's house and finds antlers and puts them to his head and he keeps repeating "Moose". They weren't even moose antlers. The best line in the movie is when Travolta is talking to a guy at a store and he says: "I can't talk too long. I gotta poo."
Oh my god. So does someone actually write that shit or is that JT going off script, thinking he is being a genius? And why wouldn't you get moose antlers if that was part of the scene?
Shame they couldn't have a Welcome Back Kotter episode playing in the background of one scene which would give JT an opportunity to do a little "Barb, Barb, Barb, Barbarino" dance.
I guess the scary thing is that from what I have seen so far, I have actually met and even worked with people who are a little like this guy. Just really simple and lost in their own worlds.

The movie doesn't even know what kind of guy he is. Is he an obsessed fan or mentally challenged person. Maybe both. I don't know what the movie is trying to say.

Fair enough, I haven't seen the film other than the clip you posted. Based on that clip I recognized the character as being rather simple and just plain dumb.
Never heard of it but Travolta hasn't done a decent film in ages and arguably hasn't done many decent films at all. Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit guarantees this as a no go for me.
I play it safe by not watching anything which *stars* (oxymoron) John Travolta! ๐ฑ๐ โโ๏ธ I liked โGreaseโ, but after that he withered on the vine imo.
