For me its Netflix and Crave (Canada only). It seems like there are so many these days. I would love to have one with just old movies here in Canada, as I believe they do in US?
Sometimes I do just download those which are hard to find anywhere. Anyone buy movies off Youtube, Google Play... Just curious how popular these are around here. :)

shareFor streaming, I subscribe to Netflix and also ESPN+ because I'm a big UFC fan and they have a lot of UFC events.
For digital movie purchases and rentals, I have a few on Amazon but I mainly use Vudu because I think they have the best picture quality, speed and user interface.
Vudu also has a large selection of "free with ads" movies, which is a good deal. They play 3 ads before the movie starts and then movie gets interrupted I think 4 more times, each with a block of 3 ads. The ads are all short, either 15 or 30 seconds, so it doesn't bother me. You can still fast forward, rewind or choose scenes just like you can with a purchased movie or paid rental.
only available in the US. I kinda thought it would be, was worth a shot and looks quite cool.

had never heard of and now want - shudder :) I looked at the criterion collection site too and was pleased to see its available in Canada. I super want this one. So many to choose from...
shareshudder is very good. i think they do a terrific job of finding odd, offbeat, imaginative films. the only downside for me is that they don't have a large catalogue, and they generally only add 7 or 8 films per month. but given they're quite reasonably priced - $50/yr or so, i believe - i'm happy to maintain a subscription.
sharethat is really well priced, i know i pay almost 30 a month for my sub to crave, so this is almost the price of a whole year with shudder! It looked interesting from what i saw of the website.

Had Shudder, might get it again but I had issues with buffering. Tried Acorn, Criterion, brit box...I might get one of these again to check it out a month at a time but I wouldn't keep them.
I'm honestly waiting for Disney + to see what they are actually going to have on it. If they have a bunch of the old made for tv movies that used to air on the Sunday night Wonderful World of Disney/Disneyland/Magical World of Disney I'd probably be all over that.

shareJust BritBox and PBS Passport (I don't have cable and there are no local TV stations where I live). I had Netflix but canceled it for the summer. I plan to pick it up again in November.
shareI use a Roku device and subscribe to Amazon Prime. When there is something on HBO I want to watch, like a new season of Westworld or Curb Your Enthusiasm, I'll re-subscribe then cancel when it's over. Same with Showtime and Netflix.

shareKanopy and hoopla are library services. So your local library has to participate and you need a library card.
shareYes, I realized this. So..they don't work for me. the closest library to me on the list is 78 miles away although some let you sign up online and just use them digitally, so I could always try that if I wanted to. Tubi and pluto work though. Tubi I had heard of before, but not the others.
