Do you have a pet? What kind of pet do you have (breed)?

I've never owned a pet. I'm too busy to care for one. Perhaps a cat would be a good fit for someone with a busy lifestyle like me because they seem relatively easy to take care of and they seem quite independent on their own. I'm not sure if this is true though as I've never owned one before. It's not like they're dogs which they require walks and attention. But the downside is that cats aren't as cool as dogs.

I have a couple of koi fish in a pond and a corgipoo dog.

reply

Do fish count as pets? You can't really pet them.

reply

Pet shops sell fish pellets tho' so they are pets.

I've never owned a pet (growing up we had a pug dog and a black cat.)

Don't want the responsibility or having to clean up after it.

Dog and cat. Basset hound and British shorthair cat. Cat is 1000x easier to care for than dog. Both have big personalities and are cool. Dog gets a lot of attention at parks and on walks, but downside is I have to stop and talk to strangers a lot and I am not always up for that. The cat is a big lazy ornament most of the time, but he gets the zoomies a few times a day then he is no different than a dog. They get along most of the time. Cat goes somewhere high up if he wants peace and solitude. Dog likes to be around people all the time.

I have pet bunnies
They are not smart like cats and dogs but they are cute little critters...sometimes they sit on your lap and act like they recognize you lol...bunnies are pretty dumb but they do know who waters and feeds them

Bunnies are awesome

reply

I hear they poop alot though and give big poops .💩. No thanks. At least with cats, they're independent and use the litter box.

reply

Bunnies poop constantly...the amount of poop they make is absurd considering they only eat pellets and hay

But it's not stinky like cat poo...cat poo is disgusting

reply

Rabbit poop is good compost mixed in with used hay from other animals and later can be ground into your garden soil.

reply

I mix it into the garden beds and it is a fine fertilizer

I found what I thought was a misplaced piece of hash i my living, but when I picked it up, it didn't seem right. I threw it away and didn't think much of it. Later that night, a wild rabbit hops into my living room. I then realized I handled a rabbit turd earlier in the day. He must have been in the house for a couple days because I found those little pellets everywhere.

reply

You must have left the door open...I get chipmunks in my garage because I keep the bays open pretty frequently but they are cuties so I don't mind their company

Funny that you had a cottontail bouncing around your house and didn't notice sooner lol
Cute surprise😃!

Cute!
My little gang resembles your first pic, they are Mini Rex/Lionhead mixes

That second pic looks like a Lop with the droopy ears, they are cuties too

reply

My bunnies would go up the stairs in the morning into my room and jump on my bed to get a nice little cuddle and pee all over the sheets!

Bunnies are not that dumb, you can potty train them, teach them tricks and have them do an obstacle course!

reply

They are cute, inoffensive little critters but I pity your bed sheets
Bunny pee is pretty smelly!

Mine seem really dumb🙃

reply

I will pass.

reply

You need to neuter them to stop them from peeing everywhere. And they can be potty trained, so it doesn't have to be a huge problem.

reply

I guess GD really is "talk about anything here" because here we are talking about bunny poop! Who'd have thought...? 🤣

reply

Yeah right?
One minute your posting about Fellini and the next, bunny poo😂

reply

As a crazy cat lady, I take offense to your comment about cats lacking coolness. They are the bomb. Get yourself one and discover for yourself.

reply

I have two cats. They started life as alley-cat kittens or ferals, now they're spoiled, well-behaved, sweet and cuddly house cats.

reply

Wow, that’s quite a crew!

I used to have a goldfish that lived for 10 years! I couldn't believe it. Today there is a feral cat that I feed every morning. When I get up for the day she is always waiting on my front porch. I named her Abby since she is an abyssinian cat.
