NFL game with no broadcasters?

Who here remembers (if you’re old enough) back in the ‘70s there was an NFL game televised without no broadcasters? No one in the booth just the game. I think one team was the Jets.

I wouldn’t mind that at all.

I remember that game from 1980 - Jets and Dolphins. They only tried it once.

I remember. My dad watched it - I recall passing through the living room several times but never actually sat down and watched it. He seemed to enjoy it. He was one to watch Vikings games with the TV sound turned off and listening to the radio play-by-play instead.

I remembered Howard Cosell hated this idea.

He, of all people, would.

With good reason.

I watched it. I remember thinking it was a bit odd but nothing shocking. The networks should try it again... it's C H E A P.
