Voting

Always a privilege to vote even though this election seems to be about nothing. I voted Conservative and my wife voted Liberal. The difference between these parties in Canada are minuscule. Life goes on. We will see next Monday.

Best of luck to Canada
The major parties here in the US tend to all say one thing and then do the same thing as the other bunch...it's all pretty tiresome

It would be funny if NOBODY showed up at the polls one year...we should teach the crummy parties a lesson!

reply

In Australia we currently have a Conservative party who won the recent election on similar fashion to Trumps victory. IE the media kept saying they would lose.

Quite funny our piss ant celebs went on a Twitter tirade insulting the nation. Ahh the tolerant ones they are.

reply

I don’t know why celebrities think their opinions matter. I want to tell them all to just shut up and act, or play sports or whatever. That’s what they’re paid to do. But I guess as long as people listen to them, they will always think this.

reply

I hate Hollywood celebrities. Who cares what they think when it comes to political issues.

reply

same here

Even though I have a high paying job and voting in Conservative would benefit me financially, I voted Liberal this time (though Trudeau is a douchewad). I simply don't agree with Conservatives on their views on social issues such as climate change, immigration, etc. I voted for my conscience this time around and not for my wallet.

Voting in NDP or other parties would be throwing away your vote.

Are you Canadian?

reply

Yes.

reply

Well, ok then. It’s apparently easy for you to disagree with us on immigration. I don’t believe you have thousands beating your door down demanding to be let inside. If you do let them inside you are responsible for all the costs to sustain them. The strain on schools, free healthcare which many citizens don’t receive, food stamps, housing, etc. Anything they need is given at taxpayers expense.

Drop a baby...the baby is a natural born citizen...the mother remains an illegal, but she won’t be deported due to the anchor baby. They are beating the door down for the freebies. Their education is below par so they will remain dependent on the taxpayers. To put it into a nutshell, they fare much better than many of our poor citizens. Look at our homeless situation in this country, the US. Yet the liberal idiot mayors say “Y’all come to our sanctuary cities. We will provide.” In the meantime US kids are forgotten about. No break on college tuition, but if an illegal....go for it!

We used to deport illegals. People need to apply, wait to enter legally, then they are more than welcome. We can’t afford to be the Welcome Mat of the world.

Damn them for breaking this promise.

I honestly would be okay with a minority gov this time around. There wasn't one leader that I felt is a good fit for the country. I voted for who I liked best in my riding and it wasn't conservative. Although living in Alberta, it doesn't matter who we vote for.

reply

Lol at NDP winning in Alberta. Shocking.

reply

We are back to uber conservative party.

reply

The Liberal will win in my riding but I still voted Conservative. I wouldn't mind a Conservative minority.

reply

I don't vote. It only encourages them.

reply

Then you don't have a say.

reply

Voting doesn't mean you have a say. You vote for someone and then they have the say. And their say is not my say.

reply

I vote on principle and for my father's six years of service in WW2.

reply

Well that is different.

reply

Reminds me of that episode of "South Park" voting between a douche and a turd sandwich.
