3 things that have surprised me over the years
1. I always thought everybody was into movies.
2. I always thought most people were obsessed with height or at least thought about it a lot.
3. I always thought everybody liked older music.

Hey Jonesie;)
1. I don't want to know ANYONE that doesn't like movies
2. My best dude is a chubby little fellow (5'6) and he's way more of a Viking than anyone
3. I am listening to The Clash right now...never trust a man that dislikes old music...that is goddam unnatural!
1. The lack of scientific progress.
Back in the 60's people tended to think that by 2000 mankind would be well on its way to reaching other stars with a view to colonizing space. And that big things like teleporting would become a reality, along with cheap and plentiful sources of power. But in fact none of that has happened. Apart from computers, mobile phones and bigger televisions we live pretty much the same way now as we did then. It is staggering to think with all the money and time that has been spent on scientific research over the past 70 years that there is apparently so little to show for it.
2. The way that the human population has been allowed to increase exponentially. Absolute madness.
3. The solid core of malevolence that festers at the heart of mankind.
2. The way that the human population has been allowed to increase exponentially. Absolute madness.
And how would you not allow human population increase? War? Genocide? Forced abortion?
Tricky...
Free Market solution: Give everyone the right to have one child and the ability to sell that right on to the highest bidder.
Big Brother solution: A manged economy and society where everyone is guaranteed a basic minimum decent living standard in return for control over their fertility.
PS: Interesting that of all the things I mentioned this is the only point that you chose to comment on, negatively...
To both I say yuchh. Too much government power over our lives.
shareMore negativity. What a surprise...
Why is not wanting too much governmental control over our lives a negative?
shareDeflection. Standard operating procedure.
Why is it a deflection? Your two suggestions means the government having great control over our lives. Enforcing the right to have only one child? Selling that right to the highest bidder? Bizarre, even sick.
shareBy refusing to address or even acknowledge any of the other things I said even after I made a point of it. Instead you picked the one thing I mentioned that could be easily targeted for criticism and stuck to that and only that.
I am a veteran of the old IMDb boards and I have seen these tactics over and over again. You are a gang stalker. The old IMDb boards were crawling with them and they are here on Moviechat as well. Now I wait for the plausible deniability. The calling in to question of my mental health etc etc...

IMDb user since 2001. Never been called a gang stalker. That's rich.
I stand by my responses, which were sincere.
As I said, plausible deniability.
