Any Window AC Experts?

It's counter-productive now because of the colder weather. It got down to 49 degrees, and I guess the machine can't convert cold air into cold air. It's odd how my room is so much colder when it's been a hot day.

I have a small bedroom, and I turn it on about an hour before I go to bed. Door closed.

This happens in the early warm Spring days. I'll wake up many times throughout the night, and become delirious, and eventually being so restless (body or mind) I have to get out of bed (and then suffer for 20 hours).

Any advice would be SO appreciated!

all i know is that the window inserts are far more efficient than those portable ones with the hose

Yes, those hose ones are terrible. The machine brings in so much heat, and it's hard to create holes, especially when you rent a house.

The AC machine itself works fine, its just the weather. I posted this elsewhere, and someone suggested dumping a bucket of water over the machine; said it helped her situation in the summer, not sure how that does in the fall.

I do have a fan feature, would that bring in cold air from the outside, inside?

I had the same hell in Spring, and the machine just worked great when it was hot just a few days ago. Last year, too, and I'm already an insomniac taking sleep aides, so it's double-awful. Feels like the worst flu. Body aches everywhere, chills, weakness, irritability, burning eyes, no energy to even watch a simple movie.

I was looking at that the thread title and thinking "Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 10...never heard of Windows AC before".

It sounds like maybe a fan and/or a dehumidifier would be a better solution on days like that.

Hopefully this year will be better then last year.

Did you ever find a comfortable and easy to afford AC unit bill?
